Originally released by Musical Freedom, the instrumental edit of 19-year-old Oliver Heldens’ deep house smash ‘Gecko’ has become a staple in club sets for 2014, peaking at #2 in the Beatport chart and garnering support from the likes of Pete Tong, Danny Howard and Zane Lowe. 

The latest edit ‘Gecko (Overdrive)’, written and vocalled by Becky Hill during a late night recording session with MNEK, is being released by Parlophone’s vital new dance imprint FFRR. Initially written for another vocalist, Becky’s towering vocal on Gecko’s chorus was deemed the perfect fit and has already been coined the ‘Hottest Record in the World’ by Zane Lowe.

We remember the day our manager came into our studio aka drew's living room apartment to show us this new band he was going to sign to Disruptor Records. The first record he played us was this tune Overload and we were hooked! We had never heard of them before but we proceeded to listen to 10 more songs of theirs and we were blown away. Their sound was so refreshing from the instruments to their vocals. There was a summertime quality to all their music that couldn't be denied. Flash forward a couple months and we had the chance to meet them in LA. We proceeded to do what any dudes meeting for the first time would do, we through a mansion party at a buddies got totally blackout and missed the call time for what was our Let You Go music video. Flash even more forward and Overload is taking over top40 and they are about to drop their next single Dreams! The boys were cool enough to let us take a shot a remixing overload and putting our touch on it. The song itself is already just so amazing and vibey... its like drinking coconut water on a beach while getting a foot rub and someone somewhere else transferring large sums of money into your bank acct. SO we figured why change that and just change the foot rub to a back massage and money to a kiss from a chick you really are into but didn't know she was also into you.... So without further adieu... our remix of Overload!

So we know we have released a couple tracks since Roses, of which we all love, but we would consider this as our follow up to Roses. We consider this to be our most complete track and just like Roses came together in one session for the most part.  We wrote this track with the talented Emily Warren who you might recognize from DLMD and with Scott. The trap sound is a custom sound we made using one of loupvcks soundpacks actually...haha shout out guys! and you can tell we were really feeling the XX vibes when did this and actually had JUST bought the electric guitar we used so we were really feeling it. On top of this all we were lucky enough to have Daya get involved who so talented and did an amazing job on the vocal!  Just make sure you stick around till the 3rd drop!

We also just want to say thanks for the ongoing support! We cant believe our 2015 and we know we took a couple months off from releasing music, but we spent it working on so much new stuff so we hope you are ready!

Note from us: We played this as our encore song on our friendzone tour so some of you may recognize it!

1) We actually finished this song entirely and our laptop crashed and lost everything. We mean literally everything... so we had to remake the whole thing

So when their ppl reached out to us about doing a remix it was the easiest decision ever. We can't say it wasn't a challenge though with such a strong vocal, but we really wanted to pin it up against the classic 'house music pluck' we have been hearing so much of, but use it in a vain that felt a bit different but still large, but finding that union was tough in the sense the two had to warm up to each other rather than clash... but in the end we think we found this great atmosphere for the song to exist."
