Every year I am amazed by the energy and openness of the cosmic community towards music in all its forms. Being able to play music from the heart in such a setting isn't common and usual. Thanks for staying, listening, dancing and giving me unforgettable memories during the two hours on Sunday evening. I've been playing quite a few unreleased tracks live lately, this is one of them, usually used as a transition between two other tracks, it has become a thing in itself. I originally wrote this a cappella song for a choreographed section in a performance piece about Baroness Elsa von Freytag-Loringhoven

It’s actually funny to think about that my very first pick on Instagram ever was from Fusion in 2012. I try to think about all the incredible memories this festival has given me over the years. The friendships that were forged there, the romances that were started there, long nights and even longer mornings, talking, laughing, dancing. It feels quite surreal that I was there this year, playing the biggest stage! I’ve asked myself a million times, is this a dream? I’ve seen so many artists I love, admire and adore playing Turmbühne, some of the biggest names in the industry. Rødhåd, Ben Klock, Kink, Nastia, Solomun. It was a little intimidating and humbling, I was nervous and excited at the same time. What an honor to be trusted to keep this massive floor going. This was without doubt the most important set of my career.

Valerie Renay is a Berlin based, French-Caribbean artist, 
creating music and performances holding the emotional body at its core.
Transgressing genre boundaries, Renay builds an intriguing link between music, performance and art.
Unveiling a certain darkness that soothes the heart.

Valerie creates sound installations (Hosek Contemporary  (April 2024) composes music for theatre, dance performances and has made the soundtrack of an animation film.
Her debut solo album Your Own Shadow was co-produced by Alexander Paulick-Thiel (Kreidler)

Valerie is one half of art-pop duo Noblesse oblige (with Sebastian Lee Philipp/ Die Wilde Jagd) who released 4 studio albums and played over 500 international concerts between 2004 and 2017. Winner of Russian Steppenwolf Music Award.
