Award-nominated Americana artist for Arkansas Country Music Association, Pam Setser releases her second single from “Now” called “What’s Worth Keeping.” which is a song written by Charley Sandage and Buddy Case. Pam states   "As we go through our lives, we all have memories and things to decide on what's worth keeping." 

All the songs on “Now” were written or co-written by Charley and friends, all with ties to Mountain View's tradition-rooted music scene.  The list includes nearby Batesville's longtime musician, vocalist, and recording engineer Brad Apple on two of the songs.  Also on two songs was Carl Cobb, whose instrumental DNA showed up in his three sons, the Cobb Brothers, whose own musical ripples have stretched beyond Mountain View. Arkansan Buddy Case, the accomplished guitarist and sought-after performer in venues local, statewide, and beyond, contributed to another song. Then there's the aforementioned Doug Deforest on yet another song and, of course, Kay Mahoney. 

Tim Crouch arranged, played, and recorded all of the music tracks, importing the keyboard work from his Nashville-based friend, Jeff Taylor.  Finally, he recorded Pam's lead vocals and harmonies, imported tracks from Alisa Jones Wall (daughter of "Grandpa" and Romona Jones, who had a dinner theater in Mountain View for several years), and from Nashville's The Isaacs, and mastered it all together. 

Once again, a vision -- Pam Setser's "Now" -- and a circle completed.

Bell Buckle Records presents a second upbeat, driving instrumental featured single, "Fling Ding," from Larry Effaw's latest album, "The Old Home." The song is a classic Ralph Stanley number that showcases the virtuosic instrumental skills and styles of his band, The Missouri Mountaineers. Their first feature single from the album, "Torn Love," was a song by penned Larry's father, Edward Efaw. 

Larry Efaw started playing the mandolin at the age of 7. He soon joined his father's band, Edward Efaw, and the Bluegrass Mountaineers. Larry had many opportunities to join national bluegrass bands over the years, but he stayed loyal to his dad. Ed continued to play through his 80s and only recently retired from performing on stage. During Larry's musical career, he has appeared as a guest with Dailey & Vincent, Rhonda Vincent, Dr. Ralph Stanley, Doyle Lawson, Bill Monroe, Jimmy Martin, Del McCoury, the Lewis Family, and Goldwing Express, to mention a few. Larry has since recorded several albums and is currently releasing his 10th project through Bell Buckle Records, "The Old Home." 

Larry has won numerous awards and championships, including Ray Hover, Bluegrass Man of The Year, Kentucky Colonial, and 1st place Ohio State Mandolin Champion at the State Guitar Championship. 

Larry is one of the most respected men in the bluegrass music industry. In 1987 he started promoting bluegrass music in Ohio. Larry and his wife of 38 years, Lisa, have promoted bluegrass music in Perrysburg and Greenwich. They have also been event producers for First Quality Cruises, Travel-Bluegrass Cruise, Maumee Bay Bluegrass Festival, Lake Wapusun, Play Pen Park, Clay's Park, Paradise Lakes Park, and the O.J. Work Auditorium at the Springfield High School for over 20 years. 

During his career, he became great friends with Dr. Ralph Stanley. Ralph performed on several of Larry's C.D.s. 

The Bluegrass Mountaineers are Adam Burrows (Fiddle) and his wife Mikayla Burrows (Upright Bass), Logan Leab (Acoustic Guitar), Curtis Coleman (banjo), and founding member Larry Efaw (Mandolin). 

The Bluegrass Mountaineer's live show offers a variety of music to their audiences by mixing their show with elements of the Louvin Brothers, the Lewis Family, the Osborne Brothers, Lester Flatt, Jimmy Martin, and the Stanely Brothers, and many others.

Fling Ding  WAVE - Larry Efaw And The Bluegrass Mountaineers - 01 Fling Ding  WAVE

Stumblin' Out The Gate and Dunlap & Mabe started as a solo project from Jack Dunlap at the end of 2020. Jack and Robert had toured together as the Robert Mabe Band in 2019, but when the shutdowns forced them to stop touring, they looked into other projects they could do. Jack also had his band, the Jack Dunlap Band, which consisted of mandolin, saxophone, bass, and drums, playing a funky type of Jazz-Grass. In 2020, Jack also recorded a solo record of just mandolin and bass to reflect the kind of music he knew he'd be playing throughout the shutdowns. He brought Alex Kimble in to play bass on that project.

	At the end of 2020, Jack decided to record a more Bluegrass/Newgrass type record so he could explore and focus on his guitar playing a bit more. Since he had concentrated on only playing mandolin for the last eight years at that point, he felt drawn back into the music he first fell in love with when he started playing at the age of 12. That album was originally going to feature Jack on guitar and mandolin, Robert on banjo, Mason Wright on fiddle, and Kevin Johnson on bass. 

	When things started to open back up in 2021, Robert and Jack began playing together again, sometimes as the Robert Mabe Band and sometimes as the Jack Dunlap Band. Mid-2021, they decided to partner up and become Dunlap & Mabe. They brought in Alex Kimble on bass and Mason Wright on fiddle. By then, the songs that Jack planned to release on his new solo record had evolved the more the band played out, so he decided to scratch that project and start again as Dunlap & Mabe. 

	In August 2021, the new band went into the studio for the first time to start cutting the new record. It was recorded, mixed, and mastered by Will Shenk and features 9 original songs and 1 cover. It was co-produced by Jack Dunlap, Robert Mabe, and Will Shenk. 3 singles were released in 2022, with 2 making their way to the Bluegrass Today Grassicana chart.

Tennessee-based bluegrass band Troublesome Hollow has been performing since the mid-1970s as a bluegrass, newgrass, and Americana musical group. Their live shows have always offered traditional and newgrass music and witty humor. The band members are close friends and have been creating music together for almost 50 years. Although through the years, there have been some personnel changes, the three perennial core members (Tim White, Donnie Ollis, and Garry Ollis) all appear in this new release, "The Sign Shop Project."  
The Sign Shop Project showcases the original band members' talents - Tim White on banjo, guitar, jaw harp, and vocals, Donnie Ollis on Guitar and vocals, and Donnie's younger brother Garry Ollis on upright bass and vocals.  
The music on "The Sign Shop Project" was recorded on-site at Tim White Sign Company's location in Blountville, TN. Over the years, Donnie and Garry Ollis have worked and hung out at Tim White's Sign Shop so it was more than appropriate to record at the location where most of the band's rehearsals happened each week. Jeremiah Nave, originally from East Tennessee (Elizabethton), brought remote equipment from his studios in Madison, TN, and recorded initial cuts at the sign shop in Blountville. Later the band traveled to Madison, TN, to finish adding tracks. A long-time friend and recording artist, Steve Thomas, added mandolin and fiddle to the mix on several songs. The songs include old-time favorites, bluegrass tunes, and originals written by all three band members. This release is fun, rich in tradition, and fresh with original songs.

In "Polly's Revenge," written by David Carroll, the narrative shifts. Polly rises from her tragic end, a spectral force seeking justice. This bold reimagining pulses with themes of empowerment and redemption, giving voice to a character silenced for centuries. Ralph Stanley II’s soulful delivery, paired with The Clinch Mountain Boys’ masterful instrumentation, creates a sound that’s both timeless and urgently modern.

Bell Buckle Media and Records, is a small independent music company, which was founded 19 years ago in the historic town of Bell Buckle, TN by Valerie Smith and J. Gregory Heinike (owner of the famous Bell Buckle Cafe). They began the label so they could record artists who would frequently perform at the cafe and they called the series, “Live at the Bel Buckle Cafe.”

As the demand grew for record labels to produce independent artists,  Bell Buckle Records soon joined the ranks of other popular independent labels. Its roster grew every year and it continued to release recordings by various artists in the folk and roots markets. We are proud of our label and we look forward to sharing fresh new voices to our listeners for the next 20 years!
