For the 159th edition of Desert Hut Podcast Series, we’re pleased to welcome Djolee.

This is a musical journey through Latin America and Africa with revisited Latin AMerican and African icons Buena Vista Social Club, Cesaria Evora, Seu Jorge, Susana Baca, Tibau Tavares, Toto La Momposina, Bonga, Victora Jara and many more.

This organic house and ethno house mix came together as a tribute to some of my favourite latin music artists and starts one of many similar mixes.

I named it Ritmos Del Sol (rythms of the sun) to reflect the bright energy and uplifting mood these masterpieces convey.

This time I chose to play around shorter transitions to respect the tracks and their lyrics and occasionally to mimic vinyl transitions. A careful selection of ethno and organic edits allowed to also give a modern feel to this organic house & latin music mix.

The picture was generated after numerous iterations and perfections through Midjourney. The intent was to portrait a guitar player playing along a singer, both in communion, smiling in bright light with a starry sky in the background. 

It is not important to fixate on where they are from, as what matters is where they are taking us to. Both merge together in a sign of oneness, same as the music they play.

The colour of their dress merges while the moving universe symbolises the universality of music. It moves and moves us with it, regardless of geographical, cultural and social boundaries. We are all one.
