This was the set I performed at the Ideal Tidy Weekender in April 2014. The set theme was the History of Hard Trance. Rather than try to do an extensive run through an hour's worth of the history in order, I simply picked my favourite hard trance tracks from the years. A lot of these were tracks which were instrumental to me wanting to produce the sound. I also played three of my own productions, two old ones which I felt really made an impact for me, and also my latest brand new track 'Rollcage' to finish. It was one of the most enjoyable sets I've played in so long, was a different spin for me and meant a lot to play all these amazing records. I hope you enjoy the free download!

AW3 was Andy Whitby’s breakout mix C.D – the demo which got him noticed and signed to Nukleuz records and Frantic DJ agency, named by Mixmag as ‘The Saviour of Hard-dance’ and even brought him and Cally Gage together!

James ‘Valex’ Jackson, is a uk based hard house producer from Norwich. Releasing various styles of dance tracks on his 'Nitrox' & Bezerk' labels , including co running Hellstorm trax with Daimon Hellstrom.
Both labels celebrate their 20th bday of releases in 2024.
James has released tracks under multiple aliases such as Valex, Kumite (with Dave Owens), Terminal force, Imaginary Forces and the lighter sounds of jjames since 2002. He's collaborated and worked with most of the heavy weights on the scene, Andy Farley, Dom Sweeten, Paul King, Ingo, Ian M, Adam M, Colin Barratt, Dng, JP, Narc, James Nardi, Cupra, Nik Denton, Barry Diston, Frank Farrell and too many to mention with Dave Owens.

2024 Sees 20 years of productions and 2024 also brings a 20 year birthday celebration for both labels, as well as a 2nd Kumite album planned, so watch this space.
