Everyday life is often filled with many small anxieties that we deal with by simply pretending they do not exist.
Sometimes they thicken beyond the horizon of our field of vision, turning into a sense of impending danger, a floating leviathan, an immense bird of prey hiding in the clouds above the skyscrapers ready to grab us. Our only defence is to try to ignore it, hoping that oblivion will slowly devour it, relegating it to another plane of existence.
And sometimes, it is simply like dreaming of suffocating...

Asphyxia

Asphyxia - Section IV

Method: This is an extremely dirty blues with lots of distortion, amplification and earth noise. A mudbath, musicwise. After all, this is about the holy of holies. An adequate topic for the spring rites - when the fertile soil unfreezes and gets muddy again.
Narration: People might care for people. With inner grace, they do.
Note: Heidegger's notes on ancient temples that open a LICHTUNG, clearing, still resonate, don't they?

she visited the sanctum
to tell her story of defeat
the priestess bluntly told her
to wait, wait in the yard

so wait, wait she did
for a decade and a half
with growing, dwindling numbers
of devotees like her

they came, told her their stories
left when they were done
to be replaced by others
who spoke to her of grief

one march, the priestess came
and handed her her gown
'never let anyone enter'
she whispered and then left

now she guards the threshold
never to go inside
the gods should not be bothered
with woes of humankind

she stands and guards the sanctum
her story still untold
and watches those who stay on
with eyes of spectral gold

In January this year, we lost the great musician and drummer of YMO, Yukihiro Takahashi. As if following him, last month, Ryuichi Sakamoto also passed away. Having lost two respected musicians, I find myself without emotional support and have been creating music daily, tracing their music and lives. Unconsciously, the songs I create are heavily influenced by their music. This song is one of them. When I listen to the finished piece, I feel it somewhat resembles YMO's "Expecting Rivers." These days, I find "HOPE" in the Milky Way, the heavenly river that spans the sky.

"2002" is a song by English singer and songwriter Anne-Marie from her debut studio album Speak Your Mind, which was released in 2018. She co-wrote the song with Ed Sheeran, Julia Michaels, Benny Blanco and its producer Steve Mac. 

Singing it helped me to get back my music-mojo, so I hope you’ll enjoy my rather „quick and dirty“ a-capella version.

The Fifa World Cup was hosted by South Korea and Japan, making it the first World Cup to be held in more than one nation. It was also the first time the World Cup held in Asia. Oh, and Crocs were invented...

Notorious Ninja

Story Setting:
No Shadow Man was tormented. Everyone seemed to forget his existence, and Phat Cats were no exception.

One day, No Shadow Man hears rumors about a legendary ninja known as Notorious Man. Despite being a ninja meant to stay unseen, Notorious Man lived up to his name, being infamous. It was said that he possessed a ninjitsu that could alter his own and others' presence. No Shadow Man thought that if he could meet Notorious Man, perhaps his own presence could be amplified.

On a certain day, following a rumor, No Shadow Man finds Notorious Man at a casino he had decided to visit. It was an easy spot. Not exactly stealthy like a Ninja Turtle, but here he was in all his flashy appearance. "This guy’s ridiculous, standing out like a sore thumb!", thought No Shadow Man.

"Fine. I'll enhance your presence. But only if you beat me at roulette," Notorious Man, clad in flashy red ninja attire with a flushed, drunken face, declared.
