Hi Everybody, I’m very happy to be back with a new MFT Radio show and a very special guest : Soul Supreme from Amsterdam. 

The great musician and producer known for his great Hip-Hop and Jazz-Funk Covers put together a great hour mix session featuring his favorite tracks and main influences which shows he’s a serious head; from 70’s Soul Funk (J.R. Bailey, Odyssey, Caesar Frazier), Soul Fusion Jazz (Tarika Blue, Brother Jack McDuff,Steve Kuhn, Don Blackman), Spiritual Jazz (Weldon Irvine, Gary Bartz) and a brazilian music lover. As Usual I have started this new session with my best last digging tracks from Deep Jazz like the last Greg Foat, a brand new fusion French band called Jéroboam and the killer african jazz by Gyedu-Blay Ambolley to some great club jazz tracks incuded the Last Dego and K15 projects, Turbojazz and a killer Broken Beat Bomb by Szajna.

When I got asked to open for Shigeto a few weeks ago, I was beyond excited. 
I love Shigeto, and I love Jazz (duh!) Also, Motor City has been such a huge influence on me, musically - from Motown to JayDee, to Moodymann, - it’s just an endless trove of inspiration.
I had such a great time DJing, and didn’t know at the time that they recorded it. I was glad they did because I don’t get to play this kind of stuff out very often these days. I used to do a lot of it 2003-2006…
Only thing is, the file I was given is only the second half of my two- hour set. So I recreated the first half at home. (Thank you Serato, for the history bins!) and then I joined them…I really wanted you to hear the whole thing and how the evening built…

Autumn in our Town

It’s about that time for the annual recap of some of the best albums, EPs and singles of the last 365 days (technically 366 this year)!

It’s been a hectic, stressful, abnormal, put any adjective in and it’ll work type of year. Luckily the music pulled (us) through, from Cleo Sol to Mac Miller, Sault to Kamaal Williams, Lianne La Havas to Tenderlonious and so much amazing stuff from all corners of the world.

I’d like to take the opportunity to thank everyone for tuning in, sharing & commenting on the shows and to wish you all a Happy New Year – we sure do deserve it!
