CZ is the newest label to join the ranks of the Bonzai family and promises to deliver only the finest quality underground sounds from the world of Techno and beyond. Over the next several months we will introduce up and coming producers as well as established artists - some of whom fit in the legendary status category - with a plethora of new sounds. DJ and producer Van Czar heads up the launch of this new Belgian label with the superb three tracker entitled Luna Roja and there will be much more to come from Van including collabs with top artists from around the world. The CZ sound will be all about atmospheric and versatile music that feels at home in the Underground, not limited to any kind of style, but music that is designed to move the crowds and deliver an experience filled with emotional feeling. We think this first release fits the bill perfectly so come and join us on our latest adventure through the wonderful world of music.
 
Luna Roja delivers a wonderfully atmospheric vibe throughout while keeping its groove firmly rooted in the Techno arena. Nice chunky kicks are joined by a playful bassline that dances through the track effortlessly as swirling pads provide that almost ethereal atmosphere alongside a mesmerizing reverbed soft synth stab. Cool vocal shots are scattered all over and add character to the sound as the deep groove takes hold. This one goes deep and will definitely keep those late night sets in full on mode.

Soul Girl intros with a stunning powerful kick drum that pounds out a solid 4 x 4 beat as bright crispy hats fade in alongside punchy snappy snares and eerie ghostlike vocal shots. A deep throbbing bass joins in and we find ourselves locked on to the solid Techno fuelled groove. Heavy hitting synth stabs come in and ramps up the Techno groove that just oozes out of this one. One to watch here, big and bold, the bassbins are gonna love it.

Viral rounds up this superb label debut and brings home the Techno sound in style. Right from the get go you will be forced as the solid beats take hold. A tight drum arrangement made up of punchy kicks and crispy hats deliver a flowing rhythmic vibe alongside an energetic stuttering synth that fills out the background. The bass sits off the kick drums beautifully and melts into the arrangement while the layers build. A frenzy of percussions bring an organized noise that is complimented by some cool synths and pads. Top notch stuff that you will not want to miss.

« This is the second release on CZ (CZ 002), part of the legendary Belgian label Bonzai.
Patrick Kuessner music respects the Detroit Techno style and it's the kind that Terrence Dixon likes. In fact, Van Czar, CZ owner, discovered this artist on Terrence Dixon's Facebook group in which unknown producers have the opportunity to show themselves to labels and release their works. »

German producer Patrick Kuessner heads up our next CZ release and does it in style. His five track Free Mind EP is the epitome of what we want our label to be about, solid underground techno grooves. In 2009 Patrick found himself intrigued by the famous TR-808 drum machine after reading an online article. After getting his hands on an emulation of this most famous sound, he then discovered the TR-303 and TR-909 and the roots from where the sprouted. Having cut his teeth in Autiotool he soon set up his own studio with an aim to create his own unique brand of techno and drew inspiration from the likes of Juan Atkins, Robert Hood, Jeff Mills and Terence Dixon. A rising talent with a lot to offer, it's well worth checking this guy out.

This fine EP opens with the title track - Free Mind and gets down and dirty with a solid slice of techno right from the off. Chunky beats are offset by a simple sharp hat and a subtle percussion arrangement that generates a cool rhythm. The big focus here though are those gritty, squeclhy 303 lines that cascade up and down right through the track. Perfectly tweaked and ready for action, this one will hit the floors hard.

Main Distraction delivers a cool retro styled techno slice complete with beautifully crafted acid lines and FM basses. Punchy kicks and crispy hats keep the rhythm on the move alongside some classic percussions. The groove is dripping with techno flavours as those 303 lines twist and turn creating a truly hypnotic vibe that raids the senses. Top notch stuff and a definite must have track.

Jacknroll aka DJ and producer duo Vitor Tavares (Jack) and Roland Sousa (Roll) debut on CZ with the superb Day & Night which features 2 tracks in original format as well as remixes from Protyv and DJ Cocodil. Jacknroll started in 2011 when Portuguese friends Vitor and Roland got together and shared their musical tastes. They set out a plan to get their sounds into clubs and to control the night through a musical selection distinguished by original and classic sounds. Their sound is influenced by Techno, Deep House and Tech House, and it's their aim to evoke deepest emotions and make people dance. In just a few short years this duo have made a huge impact and bit by bit they are fast becoming one of the most renowned acts around. Great to have them on board at CZ and we hope to see more from them soon.

Cavione Day - Original Mix intros with a full on techno vibe as chunky kick drums are met with a deep rumbling bassline that sits poised ready to unleash its acid laced qualities. A tight percussion arrangement ensures the rhythm flows smoothly while some very cool FX litter the sound. This one draws you in with its retro licked vibe and locks you into a solid techno groove for the duration, top notch stuff.

Portuguese DJ and producer Diogo Tavares aka Protyv returns to CZ for remix duties on Cavione Day with his Dark Remix. Diogo debuted here back in March 2016 with Organic as well as a remix for Majed and his sound certainly made an impact, so much so that he features on three remixes on this release. The remix intros with a slightly eerie vibe and an industrial edge. Dark underground sounds surface creating a superb late night techno groove that will surely keep the purists on the floors. The kicks deliver a solid thump alongside raspy hats and those metallic infused percussions. The track creates a buzz that will eat its way into your brain without mercy giving you a surreal techno experience. This one is a monster.

Protyv's second remix of Cavione Day is his Intro Mix and is a stark contrast to his previous remix. The intro sets off with melancholic piano melodies coupled with an eerie atmosphere that dominates the background sounds. A beautifully warm kick drum comes through that almost floats on top of the wonderfully crafted techno soundscape below. The track evolves into a stunning slice of ambient techno that will most definitely appeal to many.

Cavione Night - Original Mix intros with a nice chunky kick drum and crispy hat combi alongside a fading in percussion pattern that piques your interest right from the off. A deep buzzing bassline fades in and takes hold of the track, solidifying its techno edge and locking us in for the duration. The shuffling hats and tight percussions keep the rhythm in check as metallic synths play their part. A nicely crafted techno slice that is a definite must have.

Protyv steps up for his third remix on this release, this time he gets to grips with Cavione Night and once again he delivers another fine slice of techno goodness laced deep sultry grooves for our listening pleasure. This one intros with warm, lush chords that ease us into the groove before chunky kick drums and scattered percussions come through. Cool reverse synth sounds are added creating some cool textures along the way while those warm chords continue to mesmerize. A beautifully constructed deep house versus techno hybrid that will definitely turn a few heads no doubt.

Van Czar grew up in Brussels, Belgium and he was very keen on listening and thinking about music. He is a versatile artist who produces what he feels in every moment. Detroit Techno and Chicago House sounds are at the forefront of his music vision. Van Czar has a special ability to engage with the crowd, he adapts to any kind of gig or event he takes part in and he loves clubby atmospheres as well as more hype events. He has played at ADE 2014 where he showcased Bonzai Basik Beats, ADE 2016 where he hosted CZ event and he performed a b2b with DantiezSaunderson at Legacy Festival (Belgium) 2015 where they burned the dance floor with a blistering set. He has managed to have his own gigs in IBIZA several summers in a row where he has played at Ocean Beach/Pearl and Es Vivé. Van Czar was chosen by one of the digital shops Traxsource among the best 100 techno artists 2017.

Van is at the cutting edge of a dynamic industry and he has the tools to stay there.
