As I often play these records alongside newer releases, I realized most of those classics were more than 25 years old, I thought of compiling them together to show where dub tech comes from and how timeless most of these tracks are...Take a record like Round Four, discovered for a lot of people like me on Daniel Bell's mix (2000) The button down mind of Daniel Bell. More than 25 years onwards, you can look at a record like this, alongside Baby Ford and early Ricardo Villalobos as the blueprint for modern minimal and dubby electronic music, but that would imply that those genres later improved upon the overall formula. In reality, few got even close to as good as this. The origins of a genre is often more important than newer releases. Few notes: Sanasol is Yagya (Aðalsteinn Guðmundsson, Thorhallur Skulason aka Thor), Aliens don't boogie was famously used on Richie Hawtin's Deck, efx & 909 in 1999, Parallel 9 is Steve Rachmad famous Dutch electronic musician aka Sterac, Infiniti is Juan Atkins both he and Moritz von Oswald aka Maurizio remixed each other and collaborated many times in the last 30 years. Vainqueur is René Löwe famous from the Chain Reaction label. The B.C. track isn't Basic channel but a moniker which consists of Robert Leiner (Visions of the past) and Cisco Ferreira (The Advent). G-Man, whose productions were way ahead of its time on Force inc is Gez Varley from L.F.O. one half of it (other was Mark Bell), Quadrant is another moniker used by Basic channel, the EP was released in 1993 on R&S records the legendary Belgium label, and later repressed on Carl Craig's Planet E.

I had such a great time playing the closing at Globus/Tresor last Saturday. 
You got to love this club, they are professional on every level and it’s pure joy to play on such a good sound system and among such a passionate crowd, surrounded by friends.
This mix leans more towards techno and It was delightful to play so many of my old records :)
The recording is a bit rough, distorted, but it definitely fits the mood - raw and rumbling.
Hope it radiates all the fun I had! Enjoy 🖤

Phonica Mix Series 130 welcomes an artist who has defined and defied the rules of drum & bass like no other. dBridge, real name Darren White has been in the game for well over 30 years. Growing up listening to artists like DJ Randall & Grooverider on Rush FM when he was starting out shaped his ear for the sound that he would learn to grow with, love and mutate. With over 100 records released on labels like R&S, Convex, Metalheadz, Nonplus and more that span well into the 90's dBridge has become a pioneer well in his own right. Not only that but his label Exit Records which not too long ago celebrated its 100th release has been a output determined to push the boundaries of experimental bass, D&B and more. 
Having usually referred to himself as being producer first, it is not to be mistaken that White is a seasoned pro behind the decks. Having stepped into Worlds of his own playing with some of Drum & Bass' biggest names like Doc Scott & Goldie, the artist has also stepped into lengthy b2b's with Bass artist Youngsta and Techno legend Donato Dozzy (which he will do once more this Summer at Dekmantel). 
For this mix dBridge has dedicated it to people around him, a friends and family mix of sorts. With heavy bassy tones from the get go and experimental techno and electro flowing throughout - it showcases the sure diversity of one of the best to do it! We had a brief chat with dBridge about the mix and what he has coming up.
