"Whoomp! (There It Is)" is a number two Billboard Hot 100 single by the Miami bass group Tag Team.[1] The song sampled a beginning synthesizer line from the 1980 Italo-disco hit "I'm Ready" by Kano. The chorus is almost the same as the song "Whoot, There It Is" released by 95 South a month earlier, however the verse lyrics are much different. Both songs charted on the Billboard chart at the same time, but "Whoot, There It Is" peaked at #11 and "Whoomp! (There It Is) peaked at #2 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
The hit song spent one week at #1 on the US R&B chart in 1993. It spent seven weeks at #2 in September through October, 1993[2] on the Billboard Hot 100, but was kept out of the top slot by UB40's "Can't Help Falling in Love" and Mariah Carey's "Dreamlover". The single is certified 4× Platinum in the US for sales of over 4,000,000 copies and, despite never reaching number one on the pop chart, was the second top song of 1993, behind Whitney Houston's "I Will Always Love You".
"Whoomp! (There It Is)" was commonly used at sporting events, particularly basketball. It was the theme song for the 1993 Philadelphia Phillies season and was featured prominently during the 1993 World Series. Between innings at one game, Tag Team performed the song on the field, with special lyrics related to the Phillies. A young Rob Capellupo appears in the video with black teeth. When Steve Yzerman of the Detroit Red Wings goal beat the St. Louis Blues in the 1996 Western Conference Semifinals, the song was played with fans yelling out the "WHOOMP!" part. The song would later be included on 1995's Jock Jams, Volume 1.
"Whoomp! (There It Is)" was rated #97 in VH1's 100 Greatest One-Hit Wonders. The song listed at #58 on "Billboard's Greatest Songs of all time".[3] On September 11, 2010 Matthew Wilkening of AOL Radio ranked the song at #65 on the list of the 100 Worst Songs Ever, stating from their "1993 journal": "It's clear this is just the start for Tag Team. Also, handheld computing is here!"[4]

"Undance" is Liar's exploration in the realm of emotional melodic techno. The selected originals are a prime example of his subtle trademark sound applied without a concern for genre borders. From a mystical point of view, as Liar puts it himself, the EP is antagonistic in its nature, "Divorce" being inspired by and paying a tribute to love, "Liar" blossoming from his quest for truth and "Origami Bound" acting as a statement of boundless freedom. 

Coming to aid on remixing duty, Flourish (aka Jesse Somfay) and Morris Cowan deliver seemingly related reworks, both of them taking the originals from musically uncharted territories to hopefully charted status within the electronic music community. In Farver's tradition, the material rounds off in a highly eclectic manner at 7 tracks through Hello Invaders' dark yet playful 'tape massacre' remix and Dual Shaman's ethereal dubby affair. 

With more than two dozen tracks scheduled for various releases throughout 2012, "Undance" might not be a proper teaser of what you can expect to hear from Liar, but then again nothing will ever be for such a prolific, genre-crossing artist.

Kasper Bjørke is no stranger to the art of the remix, having amassed a prodigious back catalogue over the past half decade. However, unlike so many other artists driven to churn out versions to keep their name in the limelight, one gets the sense that the young Dane has a quality control mechanism that elevates each mix he puts his name to – and a crucially deft ear for the artists he invites to rework his own compositions.

It’s with that in mind that hfn music proudly presents Remix Crusades (2007 – 2013) – a timely reminder that remixes can offer committed artists the creative platform to produce some of their most inventive work. Split evenly down the middle, half of this release focuses on remixes of Kasper Bjørke tracks over the past 5 years (including tracks of his 2012 album release ‘Fool’), with the second half a treasure trove of remixes he made for other artists.

Available in one place for the first time, the collection (which also contains a couple of exclusive unreleased tracks), is a perfect summation of the Bjørke’s disco-fied house music style, and a great opportunity for the non-DJs to catch up with his exceptionally high output over the last few years.

The list of artists lining up to re-interpret his original compositions is mouth-watering to say the least – from US sensations Nicolas Jaar, Still Going and Slow Hands, to the cream of European club land – rising stars Mano le Tough, Maxxi Soundsystem and Catz’n Dogz, underground flag-bearers Wareika, and fellow countrymen Trentemøller, WhoMadeWho and Kenton Slash Demon.

When Bjørke himself is at the controls, the results are no less devastating. Bjørke describes the process thus, “a remix portfolio becomes a sort of production diary that can go hand in hand with my own original material. It reflects my influences of the time I worked on the remix – and sometimes you can hear sounds and ideas in the remixes that have affected compositions on my own singes and albums.”

As evidence of this, witness the outstanding work he produces for the likes of Michoacan, Trentemøller, Ilya Santana, Moby, Gluteus Maximus, Human Woman and many more. His talent for deconstructing wildly disparate styles and pulling together tracks that are definitively by the hand of Kasper Bjørke, is clear to see.
