Paper Veil is singer Mara Newman and drummer Hermann Newman.  Their music combines elements of experimental rock and electronic music.  The duo are  inspired by artists such as Battles, Broadcast, Delia Derbyshire and Billie Holiday.

The new sound from Chicago: Space Wave.

New sounds from the Lord of Lightning the electric dream. Born on the southside of Chicago he plays and sings like a sex machine. The guitar king has a new style and a fresher approach than that which has been normally seen. This world class performer has captured the imagination and the attention of millions of people all over the globe. Dont be misled to believe that he is another want to be Hendrix, BB King, Curtis Mayfield, Prince, Chuck Berry or Lenny Kravitz. We have heard it all before from all of those imitaters that have come and gone. From records, movies, television, music videos, news papers and live concerts he steps forward. The Lord is a fantastic super guitar pimp with an incredible voice with style and an image cut above the rest. As a teenager he lived in Accra Ghana Africa for one year studying percussion instruments and African Music. Also traveling to Senegal, Serria Leone, Liberia and Togo achieving another milestone. Eventually on his return to America he would create a new style of Rock, Rythem & Blues fused with African Beats. With a soulful voice and funky grooves, he calls it "Space Wave". It is formed out of Rock & Blues with Soulful Funk. Lately, he has recently finished making a guitar which is called "Batacaster Crusader Tonemaster". At 18 he sat in with James Cotten at a Chicago club and the crowd went wild. Shortly thereafter he wrote a jingle for commercial radio aired by WBEE the greatest midwest Jazz Station. It was broadcasted from Chicago via New York and the Gulf of Mexico. Also in Hollywood he appeared in cameos and bit parts for Universal Pictures, ABC Circle Films, Warnerbrothers which was for movies, television, feature films and music videos. "Early Edition" TV Series-October Productions CBS and more. Returning to Chicago he was cast into the feature film "Hoodlum" with Lawrence Fishbourne and Queen Latifah. The Lord has had guitar battles with Buddy Guy on the southside of Chicago and George Clinton asked him to perform with him. A British music critic spotted him performing in Chicago and invited him to the UK.A short list of concert dates to name a few: UK London-(Dingwalls) and (Crawdaddy Club), Netherlands Amsterdam -(Melkweg), Arnhem (Luxor Theatre), Valkenburg (Casino, Amsterdam (Paridiso) as a guest with Eddie C. Campbell, Germany-Hamburg (Downtown Blues Club), Aachen (Mensa), Belgium Bilzen - Heavey Bilzen Festival, Switzerland Zurich (Volkshaus) Boogie & Blues Festival, Canned Heat also performed. Other dates: Interlaaken (Casino), Thun (Casino ) with Luther Allison a double billed show. Luther invited him to play as a guest at the Montreux Festival after that show. He jammed with Neil Shon and Steve Lukather at Montreux too. Sweden: Stockholm (Debaser) performed with Teddybears, Swingfly and ADL. USA: Chicago (Taste Entertainment Center and Mckormic Place). The Lord has produced and directed his own music video: "Have You Heard The Music" a track taken from his earlier released album from Switzerland. The clip was broadcasted there with an exclusive interview on Music Box in the UK via Yorkshire Television to countries in western Europe and also on NHK in Japan. UK Rock magazine Kerrang says the guitar king is better than Hendrix! Also honored on the Black Music Special program on DRS 3 Radio in Switzerland he received accolades, Now residing in Europe he is the starlord of the universe and captain magic of your mind. The new sound created by the guitar of Lord of Lightning is electrifying and exciting. Playing notes so bold you can experience the crunch and feel as if its tearing you apart. At times you feel like your at the bottom of the ocean or even at the outer most regions of outer space. In 2004 he recorded the album entitled: "Fresh" with Teddybears Stlm in Sweden.
