Marco Bailey & Dany Rodriguez - Re-Meet (Paul Ritch Remix) [MATERIA]

2018 marks ten years of major productions for Belgium based producer Tom Hades. He started out very strongly, making his mark on Drumcode with long-term friend Marco Bailey and hasn’t yet let up. So far this year he has had blistering solo releases on labels such as SUBFIGURE and OFF Recordings as well as a slew of highly regarded remixes. His techno sound has been championed by the likes of Resident Advisor as the producer goes from strength to strength.  
 
Tom will release his seventh output of the year on super cool underground Glasgow imprint, Sleaze Records, run by Hans Bouffmyhre. The label has received some amazing support from veteran DJs Carl Cox and Ritchie Hawtin amongst many others, and they like to shake things up by releasing music from esteemed, big name producers alongside fresh and upcoming artists. Earlier this year, the girl of the hour Charlotte de Whitte let loose a hot record on the label. Tom feels more than at home here! 
 
‘Energy Raiz’ EP does exactly what it says on the tin, promotes serious energy. It’s a fizzy 3 tracker in keeping with the producer’s emphasis on dancing and groovy basslines. The title track kicks off with driving force; shuddering bass is saturated with clever synths as the track rolls forward for seven minutes, littered smartly with crisp hi-hats.  
 
LTT is sandwiched in the middle and takes a softer approach to its predecessor, steadily building from the offset with a tentative pause before the drop which is impeccably designed to bring it to prominence. The track has a fluid texture with a cushioned kick drum that could be placed as a peak time banger or equally, a 10pm warm up track. Polar rounds things off hailing big room velocity. Gifted by a mixture of intelligent but furious static bass, the journey digs deeper than the other tracks on the EP and switches up on two occasions with elegant drops that seem to change the meaning of the track completely. The EP illustrates Hades status as a technical and capable producer as he delivers yet another leading record.

Tabulat introduces its second release by Belgian techno-prodigy Klaps, including a stellar remix by Hush & Sleep [Second State, Etruria Beat, Suara].

After being extensively supported by Pan-Pot on his debut track "Captivating", Klaps lands his first full release on our imprint. His "Kwijt EP" is a spotless representation of the bass-heavy and acid-flecked sound he stands for. 

The title track "Kwijt" immediately sets the tone for the sound that Klaps has to offer. This dark gem gets characterized by its penetrating sub-bass and metallic percussion on top. Short and steep mini-breaks keep the momentum on pace while the main break smashes into a dazzling crescendo. 

"Quak" is the second offering of the release. Klaps' signature sound of filthy acid comes through within this track and generates a fiercely hypnotizing vibe. Rumbling bass and greasy 303 are the main weapons of choice within this peak-time gem.

With recent outlets on Second State, Etruria Beat, Suara and Virgo, the rising Dutch duo Hush & Sleep is reaching the major ranks of the realm of contemporary techno. With an acid-heavy "Rave Remix" of the title track "Kwijt", these prospects contributed an essential addition to an already stellar EP.

Revisiting another classic for this issue of Len Faki's edits, he chooses Kotai's 2002 track BA3 Breathing, a standout-cut for it's ringing vocals and ominous bassline rumbles. With the original clocking in at the 10-minute mark already, Faki's tribute mix is not much shorter, but manages to fill the spaces between beats with lots of fresh details, lifting the song's energy to a new level, while retaining the soft but sexy vibe of Kotai's compostion. Tightening up the mix and making away with vocals alltogether, the Hardspace Tool-version then solely puts its focus on busty beats and percussive prowess, staking its claim as contender for bossiest bassline of the night.

As with all releases of LF RMX, the proceeds of this record will be forwarded to the Berlin organization Straßenkinder e.V. to be used in actions against child poverty.

For its fourth instalment, Interstate welcomes Copenhagen's Schacke. Rooted in punk and noise, the Danish artist grew into becoming one of the key figures of Copenhagen's scene and inner part of Courtesy's Ecotherm and newly found Kulor imprint. On INS004, Schacke delivers three originals, exploring musical spheres that are both brutal and graceful. The opener "Cold Hands" kicks things off on a dark yet atmospheric note with driving percussions that make your body shake. "It Was All A Dream" is built around an irresistible synth loop that is accompanied by angelic noises and winds. While this track blooms in its flow and drive, the short break shows what an exceptionally gifted producer Schacke is.The flip-side features the title track "Met Her At The Herrensauna" which is the record's most euphoric. Dazzling leads, shimmering synths and a somewhat otherworldy yowling loop drive this track which has all potential to create the special dancefloor moment one won't forget. At last, IBON, another Copenhagen talent, delivers his take on "Met Her At The Herrensauna" by giving the original an even more clubby and trancy touch. The two combined make this 130bpm and upwards Copenhagen take-over complete!

Seine Liebe und Hingabe zur elektronischen Musik entdeckte Florian von Au bereits in jungen Jahren. Bereits Ende der ´90er Jahre entdeckte der damals 16jährige seine Leidenschaft zu Techno, damals noch sehr dem Genre " Trance " zugetan. Es entwickelte sich über die Jahre hinweg eine innige Liebe zur elektronischen Musik.

Heute, ist es der härtere, jedoch durchaus auch ebenso melodische Techno, der Florian in seinen Bann zieht.
