WOLFGANG VOIGT’s surprising return to the PROTEKT series with DIE SCHALLPLATTE caused a medium-sized ruckus among collectors when the limited vinyl release was timed to coincide with the Record Store Day 2016, annual hunting grounds for all sorts of self-respecting vinyl fetichists. Sure enough, the record’s utterly sold out by now – which is why we decided to release an extended digital version of this fascinating little techno ode to the black gold. Presenting the original VIDEO MIX alongside the WASSERMANN REMIX and the VINYL COUNTDOWN REMIX from the vinyl release, we put more bounce to the ounce with several additional, never-before-released versions, including a crunchy and appropriately trippy DJ KOZE REMIX. Fans of Voigt’s concept rave monicker WASSERMANN shouldn’t miss out on this.

Die überraschende Rückkehr von WOLFGANG VOIGT zur PROTEKT-Serie mit DIE SCHALLPLATTE sorgte für einen mittelschweren Sturm im Wasserglas, als das limitierte Vinyl-Release zeitgleich zum Record Store Day 2016 erschien, Jagdgrund für alle Arten von Sammlern. Ganz klar, dass die Platte inzwischen restlos vergriffen ist – was uns dazu veranlasst hat, eine erweiterte Digital- Version dieser faszinierenden kleinen Techno-Ode an das schwarze Gold zusammenzustellen. Mit dem originalen VIDEO REMIX an der Seite des WASSERMANN REMIX und des VINYL COUNTDOWN REMIX ist das ursprüngliche Release in grossen Teilen vertreten, erfährt aber einiges an Aufwertung mit mehren zusätzlichen, noch nicht zuvor veröffentlichten Versionen, darunter ein knuspriger und angemessen verspulter DJ KOZE REMIX. Fans von Voigts Konzeptrave-Projekt WASSERMANN sollten dies auf keinen Fall verpassen.

Long-time executive producer for label boss Oliver Huntemann and other artists, André Winter is also the man behind a number of prolific underground projects and releases sind 1995. Most recently André focusses on releases under his real name and now he drops his third tough-as-nails EP on Senso Sounds - both tracks primed for serious mainroom detonation.
'Argo' builds the tension expertly, before whipping us into delirium via deep synth bass tones that will shake club systems worldwide. The sound design is exceptional, provi- ding plenty of space in the mix amongst the groove. 'Norse' increases the BPM a notch or two, and delivers a hypnotic, loopy groove built around tightly programmed drums and an infectious melodic line. Once the huge lead synth lands, you can see why this is destined to melt some minds on discerning dancefloors this year.

Where do we even begin with This Culture? Is it their incredible character? Is it that they just radiate love and good energy? Or is it the fact that everything the duo touches turns to literal gold!?

Well one things for sure, we just can't seem to get enough of em, and lucky for us (and you) we've got a lot of them! A whole 3 tracks worth actually! Bringing these outstanding gentlemen to Hood Politics has been a real dream come true and we couldn't be happier to be welcoming these lads to the label with what we feel is their best work yet.

Their massive "Hot & Bothered" EP is a sweltering selection of 3 top tier tech house anthems that fully embody the high energy magic we strive for on the label. Vanilla Ace aka London DJ and producer Sam Young is a prolific and increasingly prominent force in house music. A firm favourite in his native UK and a growing name globally, with releases on Toolroom, Suara, Kittball, Safe Music, Hot Boi, Glasgow Underground, Nervous, Simma Black and Spinnin Deep Vanilla ACE has been making club hits since 2012.

Originally from Ladbroke Grove, London, Vanilla Ace has more than two decades of DJing behind him, growing up on a healthy dose of hip-hop, disco and house music. 

The last few years have seen him go from strength to strength with top charting singles on Beatport, Traxsource and Trackitdown. 

Recent releases have been on Elrow Music, Toolroom, Big Beat/Atlantic, Universal, Box of Cats, Hot Boi, Wh0 Plays, Stashed and Club Sweat. 

2019 saw Sam launch his own label WyldCard which is growing fast with some great releases. 

The Gee built around an instantly recognizable sax sample shot to no.1 on Beatport 100 chart and stayed there for 2 weeks in 2016 and picked up support from an array of club and radio DJs. This follows his 8 week stay on the top 10 on Beatport ‘Deep House’ top 100 with ‘Bring it Back’ on OFF recordings in 2013.

Touring globally, Vanilla Ace has performed in North and South America, Australia, South Africa and India, with bookings including HARD Summer festival, Holy Ship , Green Valley in Brazil, Ministry of Sound and Egg in London and Chinese Laundry in Sydney, Australia playing alongside the likes of Amine Edge & Dance, Shiba San, Patrick Topping, Tough Love, Green Velvet, Low Steppa, Roger Sanchez and Breach.
