IAN GREGSON is a thirty year veteran of the Vancouver music scene and is currently guitarist/manager for Van City Soul Quartet. Most recently I an worked at the legendary Cory Weeds Cellar Jazz Club and managed soul singer Dutch Robinson. 
Ian also played in Northern Soul tribute Mr. M & The All Nighters, he formed East Van Soul Club in 2006 to promote locally grown soul music. In the 80's Ian worked in radio, often meeting many of the musicians that would later influence his own creativity; interviews with Thomas Dolby, Billy Bragg, Level 42 & the late Gary Moore all helped move Ian's music to where it is today. Ian currently hosts East Van Soul Club Radio & Van City Indie,  weekly radio podcasts from Vancouver.

The Commonwealth Conundrum provides you with the best place to hear alternative, punk, post-punk, industrial, rock, indie and whatever awesome music is coming out of the Commonwealth countries... At the moment the focus is on what great sounds and scenes are coming out of Britain, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand as well as our own backyard. However if there is a great band anywhere within the 54 countries that make up the commonwealth, our hosts Rebecca Munroe and Danny Payne will do their best to find them! Speaking of the hosts...Rebecca is quite a passionate and gregarious lass and she is known to rant about a particular news topic that has pissed her off! As well she will let you know what is going on in the new music scene and inform, YOU, the public about great concerts and what other fun things there are to to in this great city of Montreal.

Danny's the token Brit who has his ear to the ground across the Atlantic for the best music and news coming from that grey little island across the pond.

East Van Soul Club was started in 2006 after Ian Gregson met up with former Wigan Casino DJ Russ Winstanley at a high school reunion in Ashton-in-Makerfield. Ian created EVSC to share his love of Northern Soul with like minded individuals around East Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada

East Van Soul Club continues to promote soul related music through dj's and live bands at other venues such as the Biltmore,  Media Club, Cobalt, Railway, Fairview and other fine live music venues.
East Van Soul Club Radio airs every Monday 10-1pm in Vancouver or 6-9pm in Wigan.
