This has been a long awaited LP, Ben Techy of course has featured on the label before, remixing Scenedrone, then on Variance 3000 Ben provided the original with "Sublime" and Scenedrone remixed. This EP sees Scenedrone remixing again alongside a host of others, but we'll get to that. Firstly we have got to introduce the originals, "Execution", "Prosecution", and "Capital Punishment" there is a theme within the sounds as well as the titles of the tracks, thumping four on the floor pieces of dance-floor TNT, these tracks have to be listened to (and played) to be fully appreciated, the subtleness of Ben Techy's progressions alongside the thumping pulsating industrial manic core of the tracks is incredible. Now the remixes, first up we have Nrheisk with their first track ever to be released, this Dublin based trio really impressed me with their live-set on the RPM series on YouTube, I would recommend for you to look for it, as for the track, its incredible, technical and complex yet accessible, doses of the amen break throughout with that old-skool vibe that will make you want to bang your head against a wall with joy, a fantastic remix of "Execution" to say the least. Now for Scenedrones remix of the same track "Execution", this one keeps a lot of the vibe of the original, keeping with the four on the floor vibe, opting for a longer edit with a break in the middle that will mess with those ravers heads. We are absolutely delighted to get Oliver Rosemann on board remixing "Prosecution" in his own incredible way, sticking wth the four on the floor vibe, the progressions are subtle yet effective, you could have a lot of fun mixing this through, in and out, and looping it, a very accessible track, would fit in a more "Chill Techno" set as well as a thumping "Industrial Techno" mix. a real delight to listen to for any engineer or programmer, and would have the floor full. Also remixing "Prosecution", another first timer to the label, and one you will be seeing a lot more of, RE_P, he broke the track down and rebuilt it his way, an incredible broken beat number with winding synths and crazy and VERY effective stabs throughout, that turn into a sort of ravey themed second attack, this is a great production, flawless production, as with all the tracks on this LP. Finally we come to Henge, our main man, Henge has featured heavily on the label since his release Atmo 5 EP all the way back in 2015, time flies. This remix is one to behold, like every Henge track that has come on Variance and his other works on other labels. For this LP, this is the cherry on top of an incredible compilation of tracks. Ben Techy's originals, and the remixes truly bang those walls. we hope you enjoy his first release on the label.

Norwegian label @PLOINKrecords is new to my radar but taking a look at their history it’s easy to see why they should be kept an eye on. Originally a club, it has seen many great acts arrive from around the world like Ben Sims, Mr C, Luke Slater, Surgeon, Carl Craig and Trentmøller to name only a few.

Their newest release by +plattform (@plattformmusic) who has released on Gynoid Audio and Android Muziq, is a really impressive effort called “Tailer EP” that was an exciting listen, surprisingly diverse and very well crafted.

The track that definitely caught my attention most was “Flor.” Containing a tough and throbbing beat from the start, with some great spacey nuances floating around in the mix for good measure. As the pounding rhythm progresses, there’s an unexpected melancholic flute that draws you in for a brief moment, giving a unique contrast and certainly works for me as something out of the ordinary.

Today’s DT:Premiere comes from the new and exciting label called Injected Poison Records. Based in Spain, they have had a really solid output of tough and hypnotic Techno from the likes of Radial, Jonas Kopp, Reeko to Christian Wunsch.

The track we chose is by the label boss himself @JosePouj and the named after the EP “Regeneration” that also features killer works from Groof, Energun and Positive Merge.

Jose concocts a crisp vision, that is driving from the start. Sonic stabs flash passed as it powers forward and builds tension, where the groove fuelled bass line groove is a real highlight rarely letting up. He creates an epic build throughout and plenty of shimmering to rough textures filling the mix. Quality, spaced out Techno.

The highly regarded @BeAsOneimprint ran by @ShlomiAber has been undergoing a transition of late, moving into more serious Techno and featuring artists such as Eduardo De La Calle, Truncate, Jeroen Search and Markus Suckut for example. It’s an exciting prospect to see the switch happening with top quality releases flying out of the now Barcelona based stable.

The forthcoming release comes from the label boss himself and shows first-hand the sounds he is now championing after a star studded back catalogue on legendary labels like R&S, Josh Wink’s Ovum to Sven Väth’s Cocoon.

Title track “Warfare” was selected for this DT:Premiere as the tough and dancefloor focused sound has industrial elements as it builds with tension before blasting into some huge tribal drum breaks. Perfect for catching people off guard and to add a surprise element in a DJ set.

Marco Bailey has been a leading force for well over 25 years appearing on Carl Cox’s Intec Digital, John Digweed’s Bedrock and Adam Beyer’s Drumcode for example. The Belgian bossman has been running his own renowned imprint MB Elektronics and its off shoots since 2002, with great success.

A true pioneer, his latest contribution to an already epic legacy is the quality new label and events series known as MATERIA. The next release is only the fourth outing, but it can already list additional appearances from artists such as The Advent, Moteka and Miki Craven respectively. The project looks to stand its ground in some style by focusing on a solid sound.

The DT:Premiere we selected is the title track “Icefyre” that seems in no rush as it prolongs suspense and keeps an awesome groove. Expert and precise production collides with gritty textures that fill out the mix. A perfect blend of devastating floor drive and forging hypnosis for the heads.
