To commemorate 4000 likes on the Variance facebook page we compiled this amazing free various artists LP/Album. 20 tracks, 23 artists. No holds barred mayhem. 

Lots of work went into this from all involved, but with 4 years of incredible support for Variance, we are happy to give back, we are delighted with all the artists involved.

STAUB 005 (7 Year Anniversary VA)

STAUB is a project that came to life in Berlin around 2013. It aimed to detach itself from the hype and business from techno. The idea was simply to not announce a lineup and treat everyone the same without separating headliners from the rest. This strictly equalitarian but also very familial and friendly concept allowed to give chances to newcomers on a regular basis and to build a tight-knit community.
As time passed it also became an outlet to release music staying true to these ethos. Everyone is paid the same, doesn’t matter who you are, it’s all about music and respect.

It has somewhat become customary to have a record ready to celebrate its birthday. As STAUB turns seven, STAUB’s fifth instalment (STAUB 5 / IRIS007) will be available at “STAUB – 7 YEARS“ Event at :// about blank.

Athens based DJ & producer, Jerm, debuts on Soma with a massive new release, Electric City EP. A relative new face to the greater Techno world, Jerm is quickly ascending the ranks with multiple hard hitting original productions and remixes which are garnering attention across the board. His debut Soma release sets down strong roots with direct and unrelenting Techno, moving from hard edged industrial sounds, to jacked up 90s flavoured elements. Also appearing for the first time on Soma, in the form of a remix, is UK Techno maverick, Manni Dee.

Control Theory opens the release with powerhouse beats and eviscerating synths and a colossal amount of attitude. Manni Dee’s remix of Control Theory feeds on that attitude and take it up even more with clear nods to the rapid Birmingham sound. Glass Chinn keeps the intensity flowing with galloping percussion that leads directly into a dark, driving and industrial-esq affair. Maiden Voyage works in more hypnotic elements whilst still retaining Jerm’s concussive and direct sound. The jacking and funked up vibes of Booze Cruise can be found as a Bandcamp exclusive.

Zalem was born in Argentina and has been working within the techno scene since 2016. Making his way as a producer releasing music in Argentina and Europe last couple of years. He is the founder and head of @imminent-label. His main goal to create a platform for artists that really have the potential to be the next big thing. 

Zalem defines his style as fast with a touch of acid and hypnotic sounds. You can expect a wild ride for the next 60 minutes.
