Back at our mammoth Stay True Scotland broadcast earlier this month, one track came real close to bringing The Caves' roof down during Nina Kraviz's powerhouse headline set. "I Wanna Go Bang" very nearly executed its titular statement – well, if the song was more about wrecking balls and less about...oh, never mind.

The vocals that stalk the track, so wholly devoid of humanity, rub up against razor-sharp claps and serious bounce in the subs. It's weighty warehouse techno of the highest order, set to devastate dark basements and big tents alike throughout the year. Simply put: Icelandic producer Bjarki has delivered a bomb.

Variant Electronic continue to expand on what should be, this time with an immense EP with one of my personal favourite artists of the past 3 or so years, Ethan Fawkes. It is a true pleasure to have the men, "the enigma", grace Variant with an original number, and provide he did. Ethan is becoming no stranger to the Variant. With his first remix of "a Humanoid Individuals" "Blight and Stagnation" he was of to a killer start quickly becoming one of the top 10 ever tracks sold n our imprint. SO, we would be stupid t not have the main man back, for firstly and original EP with remixes, and between the grapevine we heard there is another Fawkes number on the cards very soon on the imprint. Ethan is here to stay. Alongside Ethans fantastic original we have four incredible remixes. first up we have Jason Mills, Terminus Audio head honcho, provided us with the most "techno" interpretation, with so funky rave breaks, a real floor filler. Following that remix we have one of our main men of 2018, and of the future "The Mark: with and IMMENSE remix, that only The Mark can do, this man never fails to impress, watch this space for LOADS more.... Following up is Luke Creed, label owners, remix.a nice melodica Techno number with some nice progressions, not your status quo techno, but thats not Luke Creed is it? very nice proggy techno track bordering on left field, Last but not least we have a familiar duo in Valerio and Luke Creed with a more techno melodic number on the piece, heavily influenced by the Italian sound, but with that Luke Creed twist you cant deny, Valerio and Luke hit again with a grade a track.

In 2018, Variant Electronic discovered one of the most exciting and diverse acts since our conception, not that we haven't already had some of the most talented producers on board, but The Mark really has left his mark (I had to). Since his album Buried alive he has gone from strength to strength, with an incredible remix of Ethan Fawkes track Evolve from our last EP, Master Fawkes replied the favour with an incredible remix of I'm Lost on this LP, another artist who has helped re-brand Variant, Ethan has just started off on VE. Also on remix duties we have VE Regulars, A Humanoid Individual, DRT, Undying Minds (with his second track on the label), label manager Valerio, Shadowcomplex, and Barcelona based From-Chaos-Kindgdom for his first, and most certainly not last, remix on the label. An a new addition to the roster on this LP is the immense Raul Parra, a fantastic producer and DJ to boot. Also included are two brand new originals by The Mark called Gone and Lust, we decided to add them in as they suit the release, and the album in 2019 is hammed packed with bangers. To Review each track is totally in vein as far as I am concerned, this LP is a proper VE release, all regular acts, asides from Raul Parra, but we can guarantee more from him in the future. Some of the remixed tracks that you do not recognise from Buried Alive are upcoming one The Marks upcoming album in 2019 - Just like the movie Tits too hot to handle.. watch this space, The Mark and VE collab is in its infancy.
