Vibronics & Brain Damage teamed up and decided to come together around a concept, a narrative inspiration that will undoubtedly surprise: Anglo-Caribbean and Franco-African soldiers’ experience during the first world war. 
The academic historian, poet & songwriter, Madu Messenger, uses the product of years of study and research, to develop, within that very framework, a series of texts on some key topics such as travel, friendship, war and death. This project thus aims at offering a learning experience about this often little-known period of our history. 
It will draw troubling parallels with some more contemporary considerations on culture shocks, immigration, imperial powers and horrors of war that still affects all of us today. Following their reflection on this sensitive issue, the musicians of the project’s – all of many other origins, Anglo-French, Jamaican or Asian – move towards a cultural alignment, opposite to certain enslaving and communitarian models.

Créé par deux frères, ODG est né à Tours en France en 2004. Puisant directement son inspiration dans le “french-dub” des années 90, le projet se fait connaître peu à peu par ses E.p disponibles en libre téléchargemet sur son propre net label Original Dub Gathering (www.odgprod.com) qui comporte de nos jours plus de 40 références en libre partage. Depuis 2007 le duo est devenu trio, permettant au groupe de dévoiler une réelle fusion de styles, un live à la fois électronique et instrumental fondé d’une part sur le “dub sound system” à l’anglaise, et d’autre part sur le style “électro-éthno” français. Après de nombreux concerts aux cotés d’artistes internationalement reconnus comme Horace Andy, Mad Professor, Iration Steppa, Dj Aphrodite, Mungos Hifi… , ODG travaille aux côtés de Biga Ranx sur 6 tracks de son premier album On Time. Fin 2011 le groupe annonce la sortie de son nouveau projet, triptyque épique retraçant les différentes expérimentations musicales du trio, la première partie nommée Bad Side signe une entrée en matière résolument dubstep, un teaser est dors et déjà disponible sur www.odgprod.com.

Alpha Steppa is thrilled to announce the arrival of a truly unique and international release that is bound to enthral music lovers of every generation.
Alpha and Omega, true icons of the dub world have joined forces with son and nephew Alpha Steppa to create Dub Dynasty. The record, in the words of Alpha Steppa, is “an exploration of the unrelenting force of nature and the inspirational powers that brought us together to create this record.”

Taking inspiration from this credo, the title Unrelenting Force is a true reflection of the power and community that dub has mastered. Alpha and Omega and Alpha Steppa have called on their favourite collaborators from the UK, Ireland, South America, New York, Jamaica and South Korea to join with them in merging their pure, unadulterated dub into one of the deepest releases ever seen.

Alpha Steppa spent 2011/12 living and creating music in Asia, and he has been rewarded with some powerful connections in South Korea. For Unrelenting Force, he has called in Koonta, a member of Rude Paper and Korean reggae duo Koonta & Nuoliunce. Having worked with Alpha Steppa in Korea the pair’s previous collaboration is indicated with the smoothness and ease in which Eastern and Western styles are mixed. Another artist from Korea to feature on the release is up-and-coming melodica wunderkind Smiley Song. Featured here on the tracks Dub Dynasty and Warrior Song, Smiley proves that the roots sound is alive and well all over the world. Singing on Chicken and the Cow and the Buffalo and Goodness is N’Goni, one of the most exciting and mysterious new lyricists/singers to hit the scene. One of the most powerful tracks on the album is Monsoon Come, featuring the Dublin based South American singer Ras Tinny, this song is a true representation of the Dub Dynasty sound and is sure to surface as a single. Dub Dynasty is pleased to introduce these exciting new talents to the dub community and are certain a huge future awaits them.

Dub Judah, of Dub Jockey label fame, is one of the most respected names in UK Dub. His vocals on The Earth to It’s Original Form prove that old dub gods don’t die, they just get better and better. If you listen to dub and aren’t in awe of the name Linval Thompson, you aren’t listening hard enough. This iconic producer and singer has been making reggae since he was 20, playing with every major artist that ever passed through New York or Jamaica. A producer of over 40 albums, he is considered one of the essential contributors to reggae and its message in the 1970’s golden era. Featured here on the dub Long Time, Thompson’s vocals are as memorable as they are powerful. A taster of the full Linval Thompson release from Vibration Lab due for release next year.

Last but not least, Cian Finn contributes his unique blend of Celtic spirit and rootikal dub to 9 Years and Dub Island. Finn’s work as a member of Intinn saw the group named Best Upcoming Reggae act in the U.K and Ireland and he is renowned for his overwhelming positivity and insight into the principals of dub/reggae. Finn worked with Alpha Steppa on this year’s Moonshine Steppas release and the pair play off each other beautifully to create music that has a universal appeal and message.

The whole album is presented on limited edition 12" vinyl in a beautifully designed sleeve accompanied by a CD containing bonus mixes and dubs. This LP is powered by bass, the kind of bass that can reverberate through your whole body and lift you into another time and place.

Alpha Steppa a vécu en Asie en 2011/12 où il y a crée de nombreux morceaux. Il y a fait de solides connections notament en Corée du Sud. Il est ici en featuring sur le dub Long Time, la voix de Linval Thompson est implacable, puissante et inoubliable. C'est une réelle mise en bouche pour son album a venir l'année prochaine sur le label Vibration Lab.

Enfin, l'artiste Cian Finn apporte sa contribution et son esprit dub rootikal Celte sur 9 Years et sur Dub Island. Le travail de Finn en tant que membre du groupe Intinn leur vaut d'être nommé Meilleur Groupe Espoir Reggae de l'année au Royaume Uni et en Ireland, Finn est renommé pour sa positivité absolue et sa vision fascinante sur les principes essentiels du reggae dub. Finn a travaillé cette année avec Alpha Steppa sur la sortie de Moonshine Steppas où le duo y échange d'une façon sublime pour créer une musique qui a un charme et un message universel. L'album complet est disponible en série limitée sur vinyl 12" avec use pochette au design magnifique accompagné d'un CD avec des mixes et dub en bonus. Ce LP est surpuissant de basses, une basse qui résonne au travers du corps et t'élève vers d'autres dimensions.

Linval Thompson,もしレゲエが好きでLinval Thompsonをリスペクトしてないならもう一度レゲエを勉強し直したほうがいい。名シンガーで名プロデューサーでもあった彼は２０歳の時デビューし、今は他界した多くの伝説的アーティストとも数えきれない名曲を残しており、特に黄金期の７０年代にはレゲエの発展に大貢献した偉人である。そのLinvalが客演したDub Long Time,彼のヴォーカルは健在、来年リリースされるVibration Labとのフルアルバムも要注目。
最後に紹介したいのがCian Finn、ルーツレゲエとケルト族のスピリットを併せ持った天才シンガーは9 yearsとDub Islandにクレジットされている。彼はUKとアイルランドで近年飛ぶ鳥を落とす勢いのレゲエバンドIntinnのMCでありダブ/レゲエへの深い理解とポジティブさを掛け持ったシンガーである。Finnは今年Moonshine SteppasからのリリースでAlpha Steppaと競演しており、Alpha Steppasの楽曲とCiann Finnのメッセージが融合した最高のコラボレーションを残した。

Alpha & Omega i Alpha Steppa s oduševljenjem objavljuje novo izdanje koje će očarati ljubitelje dub glazbe svih generacija. Istinske ikone duba, odlučili su udružiti snage zajedno sa svojim sinom/ nećakom Alpha Steppom u kreiranju novog zajedničkog projekta pod nazivom Dub Dynasty. Prema riječima samog Alphe Steppe ovo izdanje „Unrelenting Force“ je “an exploration of the unrelenting force of nature and the inspirational powers that brought us together to create this record.”

Alpha Steppa i Alpha & Omega su u sklopu ovog projekta pozvali razna gostovanja iz cijelog svijeta što je rezultiralo čistim i neiskvarenim zvukom. Od gostovanja na ovom izdanju izdvajamo Koonta, člana korejskog dua Koonta & Nuoliunce, a gostuje i njegov sunarodnjak  Smiley Song, a tu je i južnoamerički pjevač Ras Tinny. A sve to zajedno zaokružuje priču koja prezentira mlade talente u reggae glazbi iz cijelog svijeta. DJ Shotnez, or Ori Kaplan as he was born, is one of the factors why UrbanWorld is here today. You may not know it but back in the early 2000 when Ori lived in NYC he was part of a movement that created the Rubalad alternative parties, he was founding member of the gypsie punk band Gogol Bordello and balkan band J.U.F. which later went on to become Balkan Beat Box.

It was in NYC - highly inspired by the world beats scene which Ori Kaplan was an integrated part of - that UrbanWorld was created. So it is with huge respect that we welcome DJ Shotnez’s debut dance floor EP – Toma Toma. The EP includes 4 original tracks which all have that global bass feeling on the dance floor, plus 4 remixes to top it off just right:

Hoje Festa feat. Throes + the Shine. --- They have an amazing energy - super good and raw – it’s kuduro rock, bred in Angola and fed in Lisbon. Dub Gabriel, who was also part of that NYC movement, remixed it for this EP and I can't stop listening to his work.

Part Of The Glory feat Balkan Beat Box. --- Remix of my own work in collaboration with Balkan Beat Box with more shuffle and cut up style vocals. And it gets even crazier as one of my favorite butchers Neki Stranac from Shazalakazoo gives it his treatment.

Nighttime feat Bomba Estereo. --- Liliana Saumet has one of THE most amazing vocals of Latin hip hop, electronica and what not, her voice has that deep Caribbean and Pacific vibe and looks into the future. Who other than the Superpendejos can take on a chica like her?

Orimonika. --- Think American folk meets global bass, influenced greatly by Nortec Collective, with a serious dance floor beat that gets people jumping. Thornato – representing the new generation in NYC – get to round it up with a trap inspired remix, so heavy you won’t believe it.
