The foundations for Clergy were first built in Manchester in the spring of 2015 with the release of Cleric’s Codes of Chaos EP. It marked the dawn of a new day for the UK techno doyen—whose stock as a DJ and producer was already soaring, but whose inimitable prowess for A&R was still yet to be recognized.
Ten years, 40 releases, and countless performances across the globe later, Cleric’s status in the industry is now priceless.
To celebrate 10 Years of Clergy, ten VA releases are already in motion. The second installment, titled Beta, features five original tracks, closing off with a Cleric remix of a track from the label’s extensive catalog over the years.

Ce jam exprime des trucs que j'arrive pas à dire , il m'a permis de parler et de voyager à ma manière , d'où son nom . Il m'a permis de me déconnecter l'espace d'un instant , de poser mon cerveau , je jam pas d'habitude , je bosse depuis 8 ans sur fl , la mao est une musique de réflexion , on réfléchi , on cherche mais finalement on perd en expression , on passe notre temps a compter nos mesures , à regarder cette putain de grille dans laquelle on pose nos patterns , on regarde plus notre musique qu'on la vit .

Fait avec une digitakt 1 et une syntakt , j'ai ajouté un peu de drones et quelques filtres en post prod pour rendre le tout plus riche , j'ai utilisé le mixeur de FL 12 pour mixer et processer tout ça , la track n'est pas parfaite , j'ai encore un peu du mal avec ce type de workflow .

A track made as a duo in response to a challenge to choose 4 random vinyls and create a track with them. We took a vinyl from the Berlin Philharmonic, one from Michael Jackson, a Blues compilation: Blues Blasters and one from the Pat Metheny Group. WE DIDN'T KNOW IT WAS IMPOSSIBLE, SO WE DID IT.
