We take a trip across the pond for our next podcast, because it comes from the celebrated New York based Detroit that is Mike Servito. Best known for his impressive closing sets, be they at Bunker, where he is resident, or at Berlin’s Panorama Bar, Servito is a passionate vinyl fiend and is said to spend most of his fees on buying more of the stuff. Only in the last year or so has he broken out of local circles in New York and Detroit, and that is purely off the back off his DJing ability because he is not a producer. The DJ sets he does, though, are uncompromising things that he painstakingly researches and puts together for often for a whole week before playing. 

The podcast he has served up for us is just as tight.  It wastes no time in getting down to business and starts with plenty of unhinged acid techno. Of course, the mixing is slick and seamless, records are teased in an out with an expert hand and the beats range from tightly coiled and kinetic to more spaced out and trippy. It’s 90 minutes of expert DJ perfection and proves the Ghostly associate is one of the best there is.

We knew that an in-store mix with Robert Bergman would be exciting. Every friday he works at the RH store and surprises everyone with a few ace, but forgotten gems. Records that he expected to be sold out immediately after their release, because of the infinite quality. Some of these titles are still in store, so the Bergmeister took his chance to grab a few of them, next to lots of other great material. The mix (almost 2 hours!) became really vast in selection, signed off by this smart selector. 

Robert Bergman's life is music. He produces, collects, DJs and studies music and he is opinionated; the kid graduated in musicology while partying at ADE. There are no restrictions in what he loves, as long as it is good. He's happy to hear Aaliyah next to Tom Ellard's 80's Cheesecake... Nuff said. Dig in.

Two-and-a-half-hours mix, crafted by Dr. Proper! In a short time he happily loots the racks and walks towards the decks with a big pile. Blended together characteristically, San presents all different kinds of music in this mix. Tracklist below!

In the studio or the booth San Proper is always the same - passionate, unpredictable and well versed in the sort of house and afro, techno, dub and disco, acid and electro sounds that send dance floors crazy. We've known this protagonist for a while now, it's incredible to include his mix in the series.

Just before the closure of or good ol’ store, we were honored to receive Shanti Celeste for a mix. The young Chile born, Bristol based artist brought a few friends and they went for a proper dig. It was her first visit to our store and she ran into a lot of stuff she wanted for a while. Wonderful! 

Shanti Celeste is a core member of Bristol’s Idle hands crew, placed firmly at the epicentre of Bristol's currently buoyant house music scene. From her work as a producer, DJ, vocalist, label-owner and promoter, she has already proved her salt as a multi-talented artist over a short period of time. Something we definitely taste from this mix!
