Joshua Duerksen, renowned by his DJ name DJ JD, was raised in the Mid-West and California, where his musical tastes were shaped by a diverse range of genres, spanning from Classic Rock and Country to Hip Hop and 90's Dance. He firmly believes that "Good music knows no genre."

Following his graduation from high school, JD enlisted in the United States Navy, dedicating a decade of service to his country. While stationed in Norfolk, Virginia, he had the privilege of meeting several influential DJs who became his mentors, imparting invaluable knowledge about the various aspects of DJing.

In between deployments, JD diligently honed his mixing and performance skills, gaining experience as a Club DJ, Mobile DJ, and Dive Bar DJ. After completing his naval service, he relocated to Idaho and founded a mobile disc jockey entertainment company, specializing in providing exceptional DJ services for weddings, birthday parties, and school dances.

In 2009, JD embarked on a new venture, joining XMiX DJ Music Pool as a video editor. In this role, he skillfully re-edited music videos to match the remixes produced by the talented editors and producers at XMiX, catering to the needs of Video DJs and facilitating seamless music video mixing. During his tenure, JD significantly enhanced his audio editing prowess and mastered the art of creating audio edits and remixes. These creations have been featured in nationally syndicated country mix shows and embraced worldwide, wherever country music finds appreciation.
