Tower of Heaven / Luna Ascension

It was an absolute pleasure to work on this track with my homie Equalyze! When they reached out to me for a collab and an idea for this track, I was like LFG I've always wanted to remix this one. We wanted to go for a glitch hop vibe, but had some trouble feeling out the tempo at first. Eventually we settled on a slower, swankier speed and I think it turned out great! Equalyze has great compositional and improvisational skills. That combined with my sound design and fat beats (temporal awareness?) was a match made in Rainbow Ride. We really hope you enjoy this one!

NOTE: I collaborated with Magnus Pålsson (the original composer) on this. I recorded live drums and kept and going back and forth between the live and original. I want to keep the original chiptune "feel" while adding the live layer, and also a "gamey" sound - hence some of the "gamey" sounds left over from original, so I went with the original drums with a touch of live. it really is a matter of taste!

This was made back in June back when I was still unsure of what my next big release was going to be. At the time I wanted to take some of the music I worked on for Sonic Boom (the romhack) and finish some ideas I had demoed out as a small EP, but the creativity well had other ideas.

Who knows, maybe I'll continue that idea, but here's a brand new one regardless. :)

I know I held on to this one for a while, but I think it'l be worth it! Luigi's Mansion 3 looks dope as well. It's short and sweet, straight to the funk. Just think of Luigi's mansion but all the ghosts are having a dance party instead! I focused a lot on mixing and mastering on this one, hopefully it panned out :D Do you think Gooigi would like this?
