VS Rin

I know, wtf is this combo? Trust me, it WORKS! This was actually from a stream where I let the chat pick the VGM for me to remix live on stream. It ended up being a tie between Zelda and Kirby and chat was like 'do both'! So I did lol. I picked a random genre, landed on funk and started fusing Death Mountain and Gourmet Race. Pretty soon we realized that they were in the same key! A match made in Hylia. I would've never guessed these two songs worked together but man was I wrong. 

This remix did have its challenges though. One being that the tempos/styles of the original songs were quite different. Death Mountain is kind of a march style, and Gourmet Race is like a Polka? This song has 5 tempo changes, and tries to fuse both tracks into an electro house combo. Try to pay attention to the parts where I fused the melodies on top of each other's harmonies, I'm pretty proud of how those turned out!

KIRBY X ZELDA: Death Race (Vector U Remix)

Last remix of 2021, WHAT A YEAR!

When they initially came to me with this one, I wasn't too sure if I was up for the task! Three wildly different bangers into one mashup? "The Axem Rangers Drop In", "Fight Against Smithy", and "Fight Against Smithy, Who Likes Transforming" are the bangers in question. I had to try, and I think I managed to pull through with a cohesive product! The original tracks are pretty wild, each with a ton of instruments and a barrage of notes. Trying to adapt the original Smithy Transforming track to modern EDM was difficult because of how busy the bassline is. The Axem and Smithy themes were in different keys so a nice transposition did the trick there. I really wanted to keep the energy of the original tracks so I thought an upbeat Electro House style beat would work here. It's kinda hard to believe they made these slappers so complex back in the day! Hope you guys like this one, Hoppy made some good choices!

Super Mario RPG: Axem Rangers + Smithy Battle (Vector U Remix)

But like seriously, I love this game. This remix came straight out of my soul and right into your eardrums.  I know Goombella isn't from petal meadows but when you're there that's the partner I think of! If I ever do a remix of Petalburg, Koops will be on the front cover :)
I wanted the nostalgia to come through, the pure joy I get from hearing this song. It's just such a happy song! I tried to keep that happy feeling, and the funkpop style. The last part of the song is my absolute fave so of course I really emphasized that! I hope you enjoy this as much as I do :D

My GOD we killed this track. This is my favorite game of all time and I love the soundtrack so much, I can't wait for the remake :3
When P2 sent me the stems for this one I just knew we were gonna cook up a banger. I went with a fatty tech house drop and it just swings so hard man. idk what it is but these collabs just keep getting better and better! Maybe we're getting more comfortable yelling at each other about little details but I'm not complaining lmao. Enjoy this bumpin mix, and enjoy the TTYD remake! Especially if you haven't played the original :)

Part 2 of the assignment. So the secret is, aside from having parts sync to points in the level, there are 3 genres corresponding to how well Sonic is doing. This is when Sonic is tearing up the level, wherease a 3rd iteration, "Be Groovy" will correspond to when Sonic screws up/gets hit/etc.

I've spent since literally the start of the year coming up with the concept of tying interactivity to how well Sonic is performing. Imagine to my amazement when the Sonic Generations demo came out, and the exact same thing was being done by Sonic Team (listen to Modern Green hill playthroughs - when Sonic boosts, the drums go double-time)

I think I was pretty elated and disappointed at the same time. Elated in the sense that great minds think alike, and disappointed that what I'd intended to be an original concept has been 'done already', even though the game releases today. Oh well. Live and Learn.
