Merry Holidays everyone! This is my last remix of 2023, what a crazy year! 2024 is gonna be THE year, I can just feel it ;)
I didn't realize how simple this song was until I remixed it lol. It's literally just a 4 bar verse and a 4 bar chorus, that's it. I had to take some liberties here and there to flesh it out, but I think it turned out pretty nice! I would describe this as a progressive/electro house take on Ice Cap Zone, and I hope you guys enjoy it! See you all next year :D

Shout out to my homie Boshii for helping me with this remix at first, but unfortunately they had to drop out! I loved this song as a kid, and while I technically remixed it along with Gangplank Galleon a long time ago, I think it deserved it's own full fledged remix. We started off thinking bass house for this one, but when I made the drop it just kinda became complextro...oops? Sorry not sorry at all actually cuz this is a banger!

GameChops Release: Aquafire (Sonic 2 - Oil Ocean Zone)

This is the result of my research on how to write songs with constraints similar to those of SEGA Genesis game soundtracks. A final boss battle theme specifically designed for one of the games I'm currently developing as a side-project(a shmup, obviously), and also a love letter to the "Justice Ray" tracks (part 1 to 5) by Hyakutaro Tsukumo.

"Tal Tal Heights" is my addition to the album, and it was just so much fun to remix. I remember going to the mountain range as a kid just to hear this melody! I thought it would be nice to speed things up a bit with a DnB/Ska type groove. I also managed to accidentally drop the bass pretty hard in the middle lol. This is also my first loopable piece, make sure to put this one on repeat to try it out ;D

Zelda - Link's Awakening: Tal Tal Heights (Vector U Remix)

I know I held on to this one for a while, but I think it'l be worth it! Luigi's Mansion 3 looks dope as well. It's short and sweet, straight to the funk. Just think of Luigi's mansion but all the ghosts are having a dance party instead! I focused a lot on mixing and mastering on this one, hopefully it panned out :D Do you think Gooigi would like this?
