Tells the story of a soulmate who has had a profound impact on who I am as a person and how I approach life. He introduced me to the world of techno and helped me discover the immense passion I have for it, allowing me to channel my emotions through it. When people share passions, they create exceptional connections that last a lifetime. His critical mindset and personality encouraged me to keep experimenting. "Max" is the first techno track I completed and truly felt. The most crucial lessons I learned from him are: a strong foundation is paramount, simplicity often reigns supreme, and be unexpected. His passion and drive for music infuse me with energy and motivation. Surrounding yourself with individuals who chase their dreams, offer support, and believe in you is invaluable. I gave Suno an extract from a poem by W.B. Yeats entitled "He Wishes for the Cloths of Heaven", and then spent hours and hours going through innumerable iterations with different prompts about instrumentation, style and genre until I was ready to give up, when I finally reached this one... which I instantly loved. 😎

Cloths of Heaven

NewOldSchool is a fresh instrumental genre that builds on the mellow vibes of lo-fi but injects a bit more energy into the mix. While lo-fi is often characterized by its soft, understated percussion and warm textures, NewOldSchool turns up the intensity with louder drums, crisp claps/snaps, and an unmistakable groove. The basslines lean toward funky sub-bass, giving the sound a deeper, punchier foundation while still retaining the nostalgic, chill aesthetic that lo-fi is known for.
This genre could work well for both relaxed listening and upbeat creative sessions, offering a balance between laid-back and head-nodding rhythms. The contrast between vintage elements and modern production gives it an unmistakable personality—hence the name, NewOldSchool.
