For the second release of 2022, it’s time to welcome the Argentinian MUNSE back on the label. His ‘Lament Of A Goddess’ EP consists of four conceptual and storytelling originals, accompanied by an electronic classical intro and outro, which were part of the prologue. With his movie production background, these tracks are almost forming its own genre, that could also be seen as cinematic melodic techno. That’s why the collection feels like it’s taking place in its own world. The title track ‘Lament Of A Goddess’ starts off a bit deeper. This track is characterized by its bombastic vocal chords and unexpected heavy stabs, resulting in powerful peak moments. Between these obvious parts, a smooth high pitched and iterating organ is finding its way through. Even in the final break, unforeseen additions are brought to light.

Binaryh bounces back to Steyoyoke Black with two original productions under the 'Boolean Logic'. This EP is a mirror image of the necessity to find right and wrong without considering the paths which brought us to our conclusions.

'Algorithm' sets the tone for the EP with a tantalizing, haunting melody. The algorithm behind 'Algorithm' can be deduced through noting the simplistic, yet powerful, manner of arrangement, coupled with the art of storytelling brought forth by Binaryh.

'Parallels' can be heard as a reflection of our environment's innate reasoning behind similar behavioural patterns with opposing views. Parallels, contrastingly so, find ways to operate with respect to reacting to the other. The contrast of the deep bass lines with the sharp, piercing synthetic sounds showcase a human's unfathomable desire to be different, yet accepted.

Binaryh has conveyed his artistic talents through two all-encompassing tracks to create this 'Boolean Logic' EP, telling an important story of history, logic, maths, and philosophy along the way.

Swedish artists, Whirl, returns to Steyoyoke Black to take part in the project Steyoyoke Black Reconstructed – a chance for our artists to remix two older tracks in the catalogue. The duo takes charge by delivering two exquisite reworks of pieces, proving to be more than capable of fulfilling the challenge.

The first remix of Nick Devon’s ‘Sithian’, is a dynamic piece, complementing the intensity of the original with additional melodic elements that open up the soundscape to make for a vibrant, compelling track. ‘Maze’ on the other hand, a remix of the original by Lost Soul, takes us to a darker space with a deep, echoing melody and a refrain that is pared back to its essential parts.

Whirl does a great job of showing their versatility across only two tracks, making this skillful EP an impressive success.

The process - From Music to unique Art-Vinyl 

As part of our holistic concept every Vinyl is a unique piece of art.
Our releasing artists have the chance to paint their own cover art on a mosaic of 4x4 blank Vinyl covers, which we use as a big canvas. 

This entire picture is then used to create the album cover for the digital release and vinyl production. To make each vinyl unique, we decided to hand paint the cover lines on the front cover of every vinyl. So you can become the owner of a small piece of art & music. The vinyls are also limited and numbered. So better be fast!
