Cosmic Boogie asked me to put a mix together for his re-launched blog so I put this edit together as a little exclusive for the mix and thought I'd share it here seeing as the original version (either on Chicago's Gherkin or or Italy's D-Vision) is currently changing hands for £40 plus on Discogs!

Released back in 1991, it's still for me one of the most seductive house records ever...

A few things gigwise for February. As well as the usual bit's at West London's 'The Regent' and East London's 'Big In Japan' night, I'm also playing for the Shameless Disco boy's at The Drop in Stoke Newington alongside rising star Ben Sun, really looking forward to that.

Hey everyone, this week I have something very special for you.  It’s a Deep Dish set from Pacha Ibiza last year, where Dubfire and I played for the 20th anniversary of Deep Dish at Pacha.  The night was hosted by Hot Since 82’s Labyrinth residency and we had an amazing time.  If you don’t know, we are reuniting this month for both weekends of Coachella and a special open to close set at Sound in Los Angeles.  I hope to see you there. Yoshitoshi Radio 088 - Deep Dish Reunion Mix - Part 1 (taken from Pacha Ibiza)

By popular demand we are giving away a mashup we made 10 years ago for our debut Essential Mix which aired in March 2003.

It features the acappella from Missy Elliot's "Work it" over Tyree's "Acid Crash"

"Acid Crash" is a true house music classic. Recorded in 1987 in Chicago, it went on to be one of the biggest anthems at the earliest raves and is still looked at today by house and techno music purists alike as a classic and influential record.

We have never given this out as a full track to anyone.

DJ, radio show host, producer and in-demand resident DJ, CJ Cooper has been DJing across the UK and Ibiza for nearly 20 years. 

He’s best known for his long-standing nine-year residency at The Eagle in London, the legendary LGBT+ venue. And let’s face it, you know you’re doing something very very right when the other residents include Horse Meat Disco. 

Residencies have played a big part in CJ Cooper’s success to date. Alongside his regular slots at The Eagle, he’s also a resident DJ for the Brighter Days crew, playing at their sold-out parties for five years across Cambridge, Ibiza and London. 

Musically, CJ Cooper spans the best of disco, house and soulful house - from upfront edits and releases to crate-digging for long-lost classics. And they’re all present and correct on his weekly prime-time Wednesday night slot on D3EP Radio 

Away from his weekly and monthly gigs, CJ Cooper is increasingly in demand across the rest of the UK. 

He’s a firm favourite at the long-running Brixton Disco Festival having been booked for the last two years while he’s also recently played for We Out Here Festival and Cambridge Pride. 

Equally at home playing main-stage festival slots as well as intimate club gigs, other high-profile gigs including playing for Hed Kandi, the House and Classics Festival, plus several Ibiza gigs at Es Paradis, Ibiza Rocks Hotel and the Wiki Woo sunset bar. 

And memorably, it was while playing at Up on the Roof at the Prince of Wales in Brixton that The Shapeshifters called his warm-up ‘one of the best they’d ever heard.’ 

Not just a DJ and radio show host, CJ Cooper is a producer with a growing reputation having released four tracks on OPOM, Plastik People, Friday Fox Recordings and Electric Friends. 

With the world opening up once more and with disco at the forefront of the party, expect to hear a lot more from CJ Cooper in the near future.
