greetings, zane here. welcome to Virtualtale! im trying to make this part of the utsc, however that works. i actually have NO idea what the fuck im doing on soundcloud im so confused and scared someone h
i'm really committed to this, and i don't plan to stop any time soon. i already have quite a few tracks for these done so expect to see them soon. unless i fumble on 004... but yes, stay tuned. i know there isn't exactly any basis for you guys to go off of yet, so i hope this soundtrack makes sense in due time.
this is my first time actually making a "once upon a time" for this au, actually. yep, when i first made this au back in 2020, i never even made a once upon a time rendition. lmao

001. Title Screen

couldn't fit whisper's name here so just imagine it's under Save Select.
not much to say here, it's a menu theme. i guess i'll mention that i imagine virtualtale to control a lot like a sonic game. the overworld would literally just be a sonic level. there would be at least 2 acts (perhaps with in-betweens where you can tally your rings, score and whatever) for each environment. then the minibosses/bosses would be, well, the other mobians that you choose to spare or hurt. rings are accumulated throughout each level, and carrying them into a fight can either help you do more damage or activate stronger abilities n stuff. i think it's a cool concept. it just needs to be, well, fleshed out and actually done.

ghz bg sprite by NinjaCakes (i found it on spriter's resource and recolored it accordingly.)
there's the evil ass flower. fun fact, he used to be a better represented aster in earlier iterations. lotta needle shaped petals. but as i made this sprite, i just decided to have 7 petals (5 petals with 2 [visible] sepals) just to keep it simple.
this whisper sprite was made by AS02X on deviantart. i used to use an old advance styled one by VictorVectorOka, also on deviantart. this one fits a lot better with the style of mod.gen that i'll have to go for, even though there is literally only one position that she's been sprited in. wish me luck with making more... oh, whisper is frisk in here, btw.

yeah i dont have much for amy to say here im tired, sorry
this is the first song that uses anything from the old soundtrack, that being amy's motif. this is taken from the heartache rendition and instead used for the fallen down.
whisper sprite was almost completely made by me. this is just the beginning of the struggle
amy's design is kinda based off of ristar. mostly the shoes, eyelashes and color palette.
what'd happened here is aether used the undertale system, a built in way to fight by eggman. while in this au, people actually fight like classic sonic bosses.

first stage theme of this au. awesome. sonic 2 8-bit ending if it were a zone theme, actually
you can think of this as the mobians' theme, generally. like how the ruins motif is in waterfall.
i never actually realized that was a theme for the monsters until i thought about it some more. it shows up in quite a few cases in which one might assume it's just there for no reason, but i noticed it often occured in places where there's a certain camaraderie for the monsters, such as "don't give up", "an ending", waterfall's section where you read the murals, undyne in general. it's a nice touch.
im gonna try to do a thing where i use specific instruments for specific areas and zones, but i can't guarantee that i won't pull from others sometimes.

if im being completely honest, i dont really like this one too much, but it somewhat fits bark. i dont imagine he'd have a battle theme too aggressive since he's a pretty chill guy.
