Big up for Katie, aka @loramipsum, a really exciting London based selector, that alongside with ANNX (@anna-rose-wirth) she runs the non profit party - WHOMP where she kills it in a regular basis. She plays a very intense sound, mix of breaks, techno full of acid glimpses, that is taking her to play in festivals as Dimensions 2023. Check her outtt!

The mix is a live recording from his project with Community Sauna Baths, Sonic Sauna. The mix has been split into two. The first half is a hazy mix of ambient and folk; we will be posting the next half will be posted next week.

“Sparkly modern soul and disco music” is the rather modest tag that the Athens Of The North apply to their illustrious and rather bulgingly prolific catalogue.  The label is, among the jazz/funk/soul community, a byword for high quality tunes that are destined to fill just about any dancefloor you care to test them on.  Their latest offering Just A Touch sees Sam Don selecting choice cuts from the 90s UK underground sweet soul scene, and in honour of that particular gem, label founder Euan Fryer has taken to the decks to treat us to some Northern Athenian civilisation…

In The Mix: Athens Of The North

Edinburgh based producer, Rai Scott, returns to Ornate Music, previously releasing on the imprint back in 2014. This long overdue followup to her Innershift EP brings ethereal atmospherics and hypnotising percussion. The opener is a dreamy and celestial vibe with gently rolling beats, while Version 2 is more defined by the smeared chords which spiral to the heavens. 'As Honest As She Lived' is another electric lullaby with well-crafted ambient pads and 'Nina' ends with layers of bells, glistening keys and shimmering melody that soothes the soul.
