Ryan Walsh grew up in West Virginia. He is author of the chapbooks Reckoner (Chickadee Chaps & Broads, 2015) and The Sinks (Midwest Writing Center Press, winner of the 2010 Mississippi Valley Poetry Chapbook Contest). Poems have appeared in Blackbird, Ecotone; FIELD; Forklift, Ohio; Green Mountains Review; Narrative, and elsewhere. He has worked at the Vermont Studio Center since 2011.

Founded by artists in 1984, the Vermont Studio Center is an international artists' and writers' residency program in the United States, hosting artists and writers each month from across the country and around the world.

VSC provides studio residencies on an historic 30-building campus along the Gihon River in Johnson, Vermont, a village in the heart of the northern Green Mountains.
