A hollow metallic refrain, stretched out notes/chords, the ambience of this track is oddly bouncy and windy, as if eddies of sound played restlessly here and there. Nicely done.

The illustration is interesting also. Gazing out into mid-air.

Orchestra of very interesting sounds!  Especially the sparkle type sounds - sounding like metal clashing and bursting  out in sparkles was ecstatic!😊🪬🕷️👻👻🚀🚀🚀🚀🛸🛸🛸🛸🛸

The inspiration for this track is a vision where I am not sure whether it is a faint memory from some childhood holiday or whether I have dreamt it  :
Standing on the edge of a rocky cliff, gazing out at the tumultuous ocean below. The waves crashing against the rocks with a thunderous roar, the force of the water sending a spray of mist and foam high into the air. In the distance a lone lighthouse
overlooking the scenery. A glimps of the power and majesty of nature and our own smallness in comparison. 

Composition-wise: The piece consists of three parts (@0:01, @0:59, @1:45) that always start with the same 5 note-motive but then develop into three distinct variations with different characteristics but throughout the track there is a certain sense of dramatic scenery.
The left hand is throughout the piece mostly in octave jumps (which became quite challenging condition-wise at the end of the piece) that segment the 4/4 beat into groups of 3-3-2 (the only notable exception is the part @0:35ff with its chromatic baseline).
The right hand alternates between lyric parts such as in the beginning or @0:59ff and rhythmic syncopic parts such as @2:30ff that leads to the final where the right hand preceeds the left hand by a beat to create a sense of energy.

The track has been recorded on a Roland FP-90 and mastered in Cubase by adding compressor, reverb, a Stereo enhancer and fiddling a bit with the EQ.

Dipping into the archives for this one, but one of my personal favorites when I played with gifted violinist Julie Evans many years ago. It came out of an improv session where we would brainstorm musical ideas and then refine the ones we liked.  The transfer from cassette tape worked pretty well with not a lot of hiss or tape flutter.  
I've come to understand that joy and melancholy are more soul mates than opposites, both being able to bring tears at a moment's notice.  The "joy of being" in all its complexity and simplicity is a paradox to be celebrated.

Now, let's talk about the feel of the ancients. This isn't just music; it's a spiritual journey. It's as if the ghosts of the Sierra Norte have found a way to communicate through sound. Close your eyes, and you can almost see them, the indigenous people who once roamed these lands, leaving their indelible mark on the very air we breathe.

As the notes swirl and dance, you'll find yourself ensnared in elusions of psychedelic experiences, like a shamanic ritual conducted by ancient gods, their names long forgotten but their presence still lingering in the hidden corners of our minds.

But don't be fooled, for there's a hint of the creepy, a shadowy figure that lurks just out of sight. It's the yin to the composition's yang, a reminder that even in the most awe-inspiring moments, there is a touch of darkness.

This composition is a testament to the Sierra Norte, a place where every tree tells a story, and every rock whispers the secrets of time. It's inspired by the walks in these woods, the people who call this place home, and the ancient souls who once walked this hallowed ground.

I went to the movies twice this summer, after not having been there since well before the pandemic. This music came out of that experience, as I was reminded of how much I love the cinema.

Zhao Gao was a eunuch from the Qin state. From a young age, he served Ying Zheng, the future First Emperor, but his origins are unknown.

He was highly trusted by Ying Zheng and even served as the tutor for his youngest son, Hu Hai.

However, when Ying Zheng died, he changed his will and made Hu Hai the emperor, plotting to usurp the country.

He used Hu Hai as his puppet and wiped out all resistance. Even Li Si was no exception to him.

The Qin Dynasty unified China at the cost of many lives, but due to the misrule of Zhao Gao, it continued to fall into ruin.
