A never released re-visioning of a Mandalay B-side that Nicola and I worked on in 2014 That was 13 years after Mandalay split (i think?) 
We thought about releasing new (and re-worked) Mandalay material and wrote a few tracks but it didn't go ahead.
I thought I'd let this one track out to roam free.....

In the early 1990s I was half of the duo Thieves with the extraordinarily talented David McAlmont (who went on to have a couple of magnificent hits with Bernard Butler after he left Suede). We were signed to Virgin Records and found ourselves in the clutches of the inevitable advance-chasing dodgy managers and of course it all went hideously wrong before the release of our debut album. Years later when we could talk to one another without the interference of vested interests around us, we realised we really did like each other and had no idea why we allowed ourselves to be manipulated to such a degree. Youth, eh?

After Thieves I formed the duo Mandalay with Nicola Hitchcock. We released 3 albums for V2 records in the 1990s till we called it a day in 2001. We were lucky enough to work with such stellar talents and lovely people as Steve Jansen (yep, from Japan), Jon Hassell, Guy Sigsworth, Robin Guthrie (Cocteau Twins) and the legendary Danny Thompson. Mandalay got lots of favourable attention from the music press and fellow artists and we got to play alongside people like Moby and Nitin Sawney. In the US we even sold a fair few albums and our songs featured on programmes like 6 Feet Under, CSI, La Femme Nikita etc. Madonna called us her favourite band of 2001 - that may have been the beginning of the end for us.

After Mandalay I went on to write music for TV, film and adverts before eventually drifting away from music for nearly 9 years. In 2013 I started making music again.

Once in All Sharp Points, once in Neon. Starting a solo thing.
