Sick track! Thanks for remixing a classic

First bit for a while, i've been super busy opening new businesses, but i'm back in the studio from now so expect some more from me and get in touch for bookings - lauren@elasticartists.net

I have been thinking about it a lot and I have decided that DUFFDISCO007 is the last bootleg I am going to press to wax. It's been fun and I hope you all enjoyed them but I think it's the right time to stop. (you can order the last in the series here - www.juno.co.uk/ppps/products/450211-01.htm)

I do however want to continue re-imagining songs and giving my interpretation of them for you to play and listen to and so i'll be giving the reworks away for free. I have set up a donations page if anyone wanted to help with covering the costs of mastering future tracks as i'd still want the best sound possible as I can't afford to be paying for it all myself.

So keep an eye out for new tracks! donate whatever you feel appropriate, of course you can still download if you can't afford to donate.

SYMPATHY FOR THE DEVIL (LUXXURY [Live In Manchester, 2015] EDIT)

We all need heroes right? Among mine, American director & scriptwriter David Simon holds a pretty good ranking. We owe him some of the best thought-provoking, humanist & politically-conscious drama series of the modern TV era. Starting with the best of all (an unquestionable fact validated by...myself:), The Wire (2002/2008, HBO). 
Resonating all the more with me, music plays an integer part in David's work. That's obvious in his remarkable heartfelt appeal to post-Katrina New Orleans ("Treme", 2010/2013, HBO), but is also a common thread in all his productions.
His latest gem, "Show Me A Hero" (2015, HBO), is no exception to the rule. This mini-series evokes a true story from the late 70's/early 80's, depicting the struggles of a young Mayor in a NYC suburban town, to deal with social & racial cohesion in a stressed budgetary situation. 
Unsurpringly somehow, considering the "deep America" social themes at play here, Bruce Springsteen was a great fit to fill a spot in the show's soundtrack. His beautiful melancholic ballad, "Secret Garden", is omnipresent in each of the the miniseries 4 episodes. Here is a deep, balearic/slo-mo style rework I made of it.

RS - Give Me Shelter (V's Uncovered Mix)

Early in 2012, the lads from Flight Facilities told me about a great concept for their Triple J Mix Up residency that was happening later in the year, and had a few tracks that they wanted edited. 
The concept for the mixes being a history lesson, not only musically but including global events that occurred at the time the music was released. 

They asked me if I wanted to work on one for them, and I couldn't go past choosing Lou Reed's 'Walk On The Wild Side'.

The mixes were aired on Triple J (Australia) throughout October 2012 and since no one has ever done anything like this before, 
and due to the incredible track lists each mix has, they've proven to be extremely popular. 

This edit was included in the first installment, which also contains edits by Tim Fuchs, Drop Out Orchestra, The Revenge, Skinny Joey, 
In Flagranti, Villa and of course, Flight Facilities.
