The highly prolific, prodigal dark horse of the Tsunami Audio stable of artists returns with a slew of fiercely unique and forward-thinking musical monstrosities - Rakoon is back!  And from the shadows he emerges with his distinctly personal brand of madly percussive beats and colorfully detailed productions.  This is amalgamated mutant Dubstep of the highest caliber, processing influences from all across the musical spectrum, and it comes to you in two volumes of four tracks each.  

From The Shadows Vol.1 starts off with "Still Alive", and, as the title suggests, it reaffirms our belief that Rakoon is indeed human and not some cyborg beat-making machine.  We have had our doubts in the past, but frankly if his output is as sinister and menacing and whirling-dervish type of mental as this, then we don't really care.  "Decode" keeps the menace, expands on it with some glitchy edits, and serves everything up on a funky, head-nodder of a riddim.  "Monsoon", on the other hand, adds a touch of Techno to the equation and reinforces the beat with some classic Breakbeat samples.  Lastly, "Plague" goes back into frenzy mode, dominated by insane percussion and uneasy, disharmonic synth edits.

From The Shadows Vol.1 effectively demonstrates that Rakoon is on top of his game, and generally way ahead of the curve in the ever-evolving realm of Bass Music.  Where trends fade quickly into musical obscurity, Rakoon stands strong with a sound both bold and unique.  Vol.2 will follow soon!
