Out 8th September, the third official single from Quantic’s immensely acclaimed ‘Magnetica’ album is “La Plata”, featuring the Colombian singer Nidia Góngora.

On remix duty, Werkha – who has been heavily championed by Gilles Peterson and in-demand for tour support including Bonobo and Chet Faker – brings a feast of bass and eccentric bleeps to the tropical rhythmic heat of the Nidia Góngora-voiced “Muevelo Negro”, for a sweltering UK summertime take on this club anthem.

This Exmag remix was absolutely SICK!  I had to hear more... so I made this extended arrangement.  Hope you enjoy it "even more".  :)

Fall In Love Too Fast - Exmag Remix (DDubbz Arrangement)

Speaking Minds return to Aeon with their first EP on the label, after a remarkable appearance as remixers on Dodi Palese’s ‘Black Drop Effects’.

This release starts off with ‘JSB’, a captivating and hypnotic affair enhanced by perfectly crafted delayed synths creeping out of the background. The constant darkness in harmonies and pads takes the listener through a brilliantly thought out progression and leaves them wanting for more after this 9-minute trip ends.

‘Yaoundé’ continues on this melancholic vibe, while bringing forward a more cinematic and even more chilling side from the Italian producers’ music. The main ambient lead develops beautifully, alongside many synth harmonies, and offers a contrast with a pushing drum section. This track is reduced to its essence, with crisp shakers and hi-hats bringing a drive to the intense atmosphere created by numerous harmonic layers.

Closing off this EP, ‘Paradise’ features a drunken melody evolving all through the track; a hook that is celverly completed by a pad halfway through. The arrangement, natural and flowing, makes every element of this trip shine, from the discrete chords in the background to the main synth line.

Speaking Minds have truly spoken with their heart here. This is a collection of masterfully crafted tracks full of melancholy and passion. Prepare to be taken aboard this cinematic trip...

In this remix IndigosBrain made special effort to pay tribute to the work Griz has done and incorporate a blend of genres to create a unique listening experience. His goal was to produce a fusion between the Boom-bap hip hop world and the Neuro-glitch hop world, with a splash of soul to compliment the sounds that the original track already gives off. Mad Liberation is a collection of songs that I have been working on for the past year that ranged from mostly original compositions to varied sample work (retro vinyl recordings and new all original recordings); digital synthesis that took me weeks to master; to live instrumentation tediously and soulfully recorded by myself and some of my very good friends. 

This collection of noise - to me - became an album, a sound in a whole, an idea free from limits of thought and more an idea of the heart and soul. Mad Liberation is a piece of me that is representative of my past, breathes life into my present, and is a taste of the future. 

I don't have fancy recording equipment, amazing speakers, crazy keyboards, complicated sample packs, proper studio time, cutting edge midi controllers, or outboard mixing gear. 

What I do have is an endless imagination of the future/now, unrelenting will, constant fascination, and a heart that has no capacity to stop loving and trying. 

This business - when you boil it down - is not about the machine, but about the man. Even electronic music is humanistic. We breath life into these dead things to make them whisper and ROAR!! I am inspired by that fact, and this is what sets me free.
