Jamaica has produced many musical stalwarts through Reggae and Dancehall music. Artistes from this island of multi-talented people have managed to influence several other genres of music. Carey Dujon is an upcoming, talented singjay whose style of dancehall music will make him as influential as other Jamaican giants such as Shabba Ranks and Sean Paul.
A product of Grants Pen, one of Kingston’s hardcore inner-city communities, Carey grew up with a love of music which was encouraged by his uncle who owned a small sound system.  Music such as Ska, Reggae, One Drop, Dancehall, R&B and Hip Hop were played regularly in his childhood home. “I loved Sunday afternoons listening to great artistes such as Marvin Gay, Bob Marley and Garnet Silk. Their music touched my soul as I was able to relate to their messages”.
Carey Dujon has been gaining notoriety in his South Bronx community. He performs regularly at house parties in that area where demand for his interactive, crowd pleasing performances has been steadily increasing. He enjoys ‘hitting’ people with his music through his performances as he says, “when music hits, you feel no pain” People are attracted to his lyrics about love, sex and the beauty of the female anatomy. Carey writes and produces his own music which he records in his home studio. He currently as has several videos on Youtube, Facebook and Sound Cloud which have received thousands of views. One video “The First Time” has received over three thousand views on Youtube. As his popularity increases, Carey is working on recording his demo as well as tracks for his debut album. Carey says dancehall music lovers can expect; “positive lyrics in all my songs, I grew up around violence and I do not want to promote or glorify it through my songs”.
Carey Dujon is doing exactly what he loves, dancehall music that speaks to the Jamaican culture and lifestyle. He is sharing this music with friends and fans creating a ‘feel good’ vibe that will mesmerize fans and have them begging for more.
