INTERVIEW

1. Why did you choose to become an artist?
"Because I like many people watching me doing something I like."

2. What do you do to get into a creative state?
"Usually I'm watching biographical movies about musicians, bands, singers, and any kind of artists. Highly recommend "GET ON UP"! Makes me cry from happiness every time like a baby girl."

3. Where do you get your inspiration from?
"Same answer as No.2 and daydreaming."

4. What, for you, is the purpose of art?
"To make you break any borders of the human mind and make you step outside of your comfort-zone."

5. What do you want to express with your music?
"I don't want to express anything but I can describe it as: native pride and space."

6. In which ways could the scene improve in the future?
"Nice question. First of all Internet must collapse forever and all newborn Instagram "superstars" (you know exactly who) must go back to their villages and caves and keep doing clothing or being models or whatever they really like. Second, the bpm of certain styles must go back down to 132 maximum. 145 bpm now for me is anything but music. I can write a lot about the topic but it would be really long.

7. Who will considerably give direction to the scene soon?
"As always the best direction for 3-4 years is coming from Maceo Plex in my opinion. This guy changed some genres in the past few years. Such an amazing artist! And again, unfortunately Instagram "superstars" are giving a bad direction to the young founders of the electronic music scene nowadays."

8. What do you love most about being an artist?
"I love the process of making music because I'm kind of a geek. It's like a cyber game for me but with no end. Also I love to see my work in the Top 10, love to get paid for traveling to different parts of the world and I love to meet new people and cultures. The usual stuff."

9. Most profound insight you had since you started this career?
"This business is not for people who got other jobs. Any artist needs to quit their job or university or whatever and then start this live-hacking journey."

10. What makes you laugh?
"Self irony, Superbad (the movie) or any 90s humor.

11. You in 11 years?
"Bad student, playing computer games, running out of home every day, listening The Prodigy, not a bad soccer player, cursing my grandmother for fun, loving my friends, and super happy without Instagram or Facebook (miss these times)."

Co-Founder of Euphorie Bezirk and one half of the infamous duo "Handsdown & Leighboy", it goes without saying that this weeks' guest is an integral figure in our Australian circuit.

Over the years, he has ticked off serious goals, supporting some of the worlds' biggest artists to playing peak-time slots at our favourite doofs. Handsdown's sets alongside his best mate Leigh have provided some of the most memorable moments that will go down in Aussie doof folklore. We've also seen him push through his unique brand of gangster as minimal techno through his label Euphorie Bezirk, as well as memorable releases on big time labels such as Techgnosis Records, Jaw Dropping Records and Soupherb Records to name a few.

It's been an amazing journey watching this lad grow into being a powerhouse of an artist. He has done so much for the fabric of our vibrant scene through his insane work ethic that inspires us to be better versions of ourselves for our community.

This steamer of a SoundCast will have you guys vigorously booty shakin with your hands down and feet up. Expect some dope Handsdown content with some of the best minimal thumpers from the best labels going at the moment.
