This release is Bass Music on a higher level of consciousness! Modern Roots and Subsonic Dub sounds merge with Linval's sweet emotional vocals that are so relevant in these times. Traditional production techniques coexisting with today's musical technology. 
This package also contains unique and amazing remixes from the very best producers of Rootstep, Digi-Dub, Reggae influced Dubstep and Future Bass. Pioneers like:  RSD and Radikal Guru. Plus the next generation of Dub stars: Riddim Tuffa and Adam Prescott. 
The song was voiced at the famous Stingray Studios in London and all mixes were mastered with superior analog equipment at Stardelta Labs, where they have perfected the art of giving digital music warmth and depth. 
The combination of future dubsters Vibration Lab and reggae legend Linval Thompson brings a special mixture of organic vintage Roots with innovative Dubscapes. A modern classic sound!

2017 was a serious year for Von D, with releases on a number of great labels including our long-format imprint Khaliphonic, plus Amar, Moonshine, Lion Charge and more - and it's not over yet!  For ZamZam, Von D has delivered “Over” - a brooding, burning 140 anthem providing serious heat as we head into the dark winter months.  

“Over” features a powerful half-time reggae riddim built from Von D’s signature warm, enveloping bass and restrained but powerful drums.  Tambourine and guiro add flavor while the snares slap, and Meekman’s kete drum rocks throughout, adding a swing and live feeling missing from many contemporary in-the-box sound system tunes.  Melodica and synth skank in unison, underpinning a dizzying spread of analog signals & sonics.

With reality lyrics straight from Kingston JA courtesy of Shamarie Kamar Bogle AKA Digital Sham, the tune is brought to a boil with heady verbal vapors on poverty, struggle, corruption, daily stresses caused by the political shitstem, and the inevitable end of the wickedness that is so prevalent in these times.  

The dub version spools out the echoes and forwards the kete drum in fine style, displaying brilliant filter-sweep moves and reverbs so luscious the space they define seems to breathe.  “Chalice Overdubs” also features gorgeous guitar work starting halfway through, adding another melodic, rhythmic and textural element for much more than a simple version.  

Mastered by Sam at Precise, released late November, 2017. Limited to 800 7" vinyl copies for the world.  Design & screen print by Polygon Press.  No repress, no digital.

Vibration Lab is a production/dj duo/record label and events group based in London who create and promote: Future Digital Reggae. Over the last 10 years Vibration Lab have been on the cutting edge of the Reggae influenced BASS music scene in Europe. They have performed at The Glastonbury Festival, Outlook Festival, Bestival, Secret Garden Party, Lovebox, One Love Festival, Tokyo Dub, Madness's House Of Fun Festival and all around Europe including: Holland, Romania, Poland and Czech Republic. They have also travelled to the US and played at the famous Dub Mission in San Francisco. They have shared the stage with the likes of Mungo's Hifi, Dread Squad, Benny Page, Suggs from Madness, RSD, Radikal Guru, ShyFX, David Rodigan, Trojan Sound System, Twilight Circus, Conscious Sounds, Disciples, Alpha Steppa, The Bug, OBF, Mr.Williamz, Curtis Lynch, Ranking Joe, Panda Dub, King Shiloh, Alpha & Omega, Kenny Knotts, Charlie P, Jacky Murda, Dubkasm, YT , Solo Banton and Soom T just to name a few. Vibration Lab works often as a DJ for thelegendary and  internationally known artist MC Brother Culture. Vibration Lab have recorded and remixed Reggae greats like: Linval Thompson, Rod Taylor, Wayne Jarrett. Vibration Lab have been associated with Dubby "Reggae influenced" Bass music but they have recently done two remixes pressed to vinyl:  Blend Mishkin & Roots Evolution Feat. Skarra Mucci & Mandinka Warrior ?– Original (Vibration Lab Remix) on Nice-Up Records NPU028 7" and Sound Transmission Records-12"-Empress / Solo Banton Feat. Sabrina Bell + Gallang / Parly B - Vibration Lab Remix) which signal a shift to a more "Digital" Reggae sound. 

For their next project they have assembled a "super group" formed out of the "live" sessions on the Reggae Roast Soundsystem. At these dances the pair would select in a throw-back 80's style,in the fashion of "old-school"sounds like Youth Promotion in Jamaica, with teams of singers and mc's. Along with help of Reggae soundsystem veterans: Brother Culture, Colourman, Donovan Kingjay and Dark Angel the pair went into the studio to re-create the energy and excitement of these dances and thus: Vibration Lab & The Digital Messiahs was born. The first single from this project will come out on the Vibration Lab label and is called: (Digital Messiahs Theme) feat:Brother Culture, Colourman, Donovan Kingjay and Dark Angel. A full album of the project will be released this year!

Vibration Lab is also working with up and coming MC/Singer Natty Campbell on some new material to come out on the Vibration LabLabel, first release is called: Tell It To Dem on the Utica Riddim, which will be ot soon!
