J’aurais voulu entendre plus de femmes dans la série « Beatmakers ». Seulement voilà, aucune ou presque n’est aussi célèbre que Laurent Garnier et n’a composé un titre aussi vendu que « Sapé comme jamais ». Ça m’a rappelé que dans ma jeunesse, j’avais le rêve secret d’être beatmakeuse. Alors je suis allée en rencontrer trois, pour qu’elles me parlent d’un morceau de leur répertoire qui fait figure de tube à leurs yeux. Pour leur demander comment elles avaient fait, elles, pour un jour oser toucher un clavier maître : Vicky R et son morceau afro hip hop « Plan B », Flore et son morceau bass music « Congo », Parveen aka The Marv et son morceau hip hop instrumental « Blind reminiscence ».

This week my guest is Aba Shanti,  a true cornerstone of the world-wide roots reggae sound system scene, and someone who has 100% lived their life in dub. The interview is full of amazing insights into his very early days, talks about the time he spent working with Jah Tubbys back in the 1980s, as well as his love for, and connection with, the city Of Leicester, where I have lived for 30 years . It was an interview with real personal meaning for me, because  Aba Santi was my own introduction to the world of Sound System back in those early days.

Vibronics come roaring out of their studio with 12 brand new remix collaborations featuring the cream of French dub artists … High Tone, Zenzile, Brain Damage, Weeding Dub, Blackboard Jungle, OBF and Kanka are just some of the artists to be re-worked in this one away international project.

3 x 10" single release on SCOOPS Records for summer. This host of killer new vocals include works by Demolition Man, Ras Tweed, Professor Natty & Echo Ranks as well as instrumental contributions from London's Ital Horns and Tokyo's Killer Sista Makiko.
