This week my guest is Stryda from Dubkasm in Bristol. Stryda is a prominent figure in the reggae & sound system arena, he started out on Pirate Radio back in the 90s and is now maybe best known as being one-half of the mighty Dubkasm. He is also promoter of the legendary ’Teachings In Dub’ nights in Bristol and is about to launch a new Radio show. As well as all things Dubkasm and Teachings in Dub We talked a lot about the city of Bristol, a city that has given Vibronics so much support over the years.

For the harder edged dub fans out there it's all about "Aksu" and "Azalea" with some gritty, heavy and deep vibes - given a silky groove by the former while a thin layer of distortion coats the latter. Spacious and downbeat, "Dischord" wobbles with an almighty tremolo, subtle drum fills and delayed synth stabs with the title track offering something of murderous, cavernous flow rivalled only by the likes of Deadbeat. Its fair to say that Scientist has suffered at the hands of an unfair music industry that doesn’t respect dub mixing in the way it should, and we talk about this as well as Scientists own theories as to why Dub Music has grown to be such a powerful force in music.

Their music is at the forefront of the UK Dub scene, proven by over 40 releases on their own legendary SCOOPS label as well as a host of albums, singles and remixes for a myriad of other labels such as Universal Egg, Jarring Effects, Dubhead and Jah Tubbys . In the studio they have worked with Zion Train, Iration Steppas, Macka B, Ranking Joe, High Tone, Big Youth and an almost endless list of dub & reggae luminaries. Wether dub-mixing live on stage, rocking the clubs or uplifting the festivals, Vibronics continue to perform tirelessly across Europe as well as in Asia, Central America and the Caribbean.

Vibronics come roaring out of their studio with 12 brand new remix collaborations featuring the cream of French dub artists … High Tone, Zenzile, Brain Damage, Weeding Dub, Blackboard Jungle, OBF and Kanka are just some of the artists to be re-worked in this one away international project.

3 x 10" single release on SCOOPS Records for summer. This host of killer new vocals include works by Demolition Man, Ras Tweed, Professor Natty & Echo Ranks as well as instrumental contributions from London's Ital Horns and Tokyo's Killer Sista Makiko.
