MISBHV002: Meditations, assembled across the space of spring of 2021 is a raw and immediate response to a changed musical landscape the past months have revealed to us. It arises from many hours of conversations about techniques of meditation and engaged withdrawal, fueled by a sense of uncertainty about what it means to make music—in so many ways a social practice—at a time when we have little choice but to experience it in the solitude of our private homes. 

Venturing into new territory, we invited artists most of whom work within broadly conceived club culture, to search for a sonic form to foster a renewed connection to the here and now. This record emerged: a musical journey from Warsaw, through Berlin, to Rome, Ankara, Tehran, Taipei, Los Angeles, Rio de Janeiro; an exercise in shared intimacy; a record of our first pandemic.

Artist’s Bio
Vice City is a producer, DJ and party promoter based in Taipei,Taiwan. Rooted in Techno, but influenced by various styles such as Dub, Dn'B, Breaks and Psychedelic Trance , Vice City's experiments explore the edge of sounds, evolving according to time and place, reaching out to connect with the environment.
Rhythmic, smooth, tense, tranquil. Vice City's music shows strong diversities while preserving a cinematic atmosphere and healing vibrations.
Vice City Joined Oslated, the South Korean music label in 2016, and had her original mixes and remixes released including her remix tracks "Fantasma" in Bluescript's EP, "Treated By Herbs And Fire" in Saphileaum's "Uninhibited Kingdom", "Mystical Seal" in The Alchemical Theory's "Egyptian Secretsand" and her original mix "Soul Seeker" in the compilation "Seoul - Part 2. Mokmyeok".

星羅棋布 、包羅萬象，漢字「羅」有著陳列、囊括的意思，這是一張來自東邊的合輯，來自世界地圖的東方，也來自台灣的東岸。《東羅》再現了某種能量交集的狀態，那是被珍視的、在他方某一刻被經驗的獨特真實。

合輯收錄的歌曲，來自長達一年的 Live Session 創作計畫，以詮釋台灣的自然地景為主題，由每一首歌的創作者，進入各個自然秘境中採集聲音、蒐羅素材與靈感創作而成，這是我們回到自然中，所能從自然帶走的恩賜。》

Lóu (羅) - to exhibit, to display, all-inclusive

In Chinese analogies “xīng luó qí bù” (scattered things like stars in the sky) and “bāo luó wàn xiàng” (all-embracing), the character “Luo” means “to exhibit” and “all-inclusiveness”. This compilation is about the eastern world, and the east coast of Taiwan, so we called it “Dong Luo.” 

The songs included in this compilation are from the year-long ANKR Live Sessions creative project, with the theme of musically interpreting the natural landscapes of Taiwan. Through the process of collecting sound materials and inspiration, each artist attempted to capture these locations’ special attributes. In this way, Dongluo reproduces an intersection of energies, creating a unique reality which can be cherished and experienced elsewhere. This is the gift we can receive from nature when we take the time to delve into it.

Contributing to those moments, only when it’s right, building and building, adding element after element until a crescendo comes.

The Jeju-Island-based record label Huinali Recordings finishes the year with a bang, an 18-track various artist compilation named Mirinae. Mirinae, which means Milky Way in Jeju Island dialect, gathers the musical journeys from some of our favorite producers worldwide, exploring the depths of ambient, downtempo, techno, and beyond. 
'Whispering Glacier' by a talented Taiwan-based producer, Vice City, is our final premiere of 2022. Oslated and Siamese Twins affiliate created a hypnotic music escapade with a cosmic, tribal vibe that resembles an intergalactic cruise and searches for a new life in faraway galaxies. 

'Whispering Glacier', and the rest of the Mirinae compilation, is coming out on December 30 via Huinali Recordings.

太初黑洞 Primordial black hole ///// Vice City

黑洞是由恆星在核聚變反應的燃料耗盡而死亡後，發生引力坍縮產生的。然而太初黑洞與其他黑洞不同，它是在宇宙剛剛創生時的高壓條件下，物質緊密結合的產物，這種黑洞的體積比其它黑洞更加小，有時甚至小到連肉眼都無法辨別。然而其密度之大，卻使得它們的質量相當于一座山岳。

當一個黑洞吸引塵埃、氣體或恆星時，它的強大引力會把這些物質撕碎成原子微粒，原子微粒會從黑洞的邊緣沿螺旋線墜向中心，且速度會越來越快，直至每秒九百多公里的高速。而當物體被黑洞吞沒時，會因爲互相碰撞而使溫度上升到幾百萬度，並發出χ射線和γ射線。

Vice City的音樂或許可以被形容為黑洞，濃烈緻密的音牆與節拍，形成連一絲光線也無法逃逸的黑色能量；矛盾的是，她同時又試圖在同一個set當中表現無邊無際的時間與空間感，以引導出類似冥想或瑜珈般的身體共鳴與覺知。混雜了晦暗混沌與清晰明亮的色澤、暴力墮落與超然飄渺的力道之間，看似衝突的音樂元素也能相互調和，諸如大自然聲響、傳統部落樂器與吟唱、中世紀宗教音樂、現代工業城市噪音等等，都是她的靈感與採樣來源。

同時是派對廠牌主理人、寫手、producer和DJ的Vice City，與友人共同成立了太初有舞、耕聲人、巴比倫之聲、PLURS電音反核陣線等組織，以強烈的意識流概念性派對，建構電子聲響遊走、關照現實與超現實之間的氛圍張力。

A primordial black hole is a hypothetical type of black hole that is formed not by the gravitational collapse of a large star but by the extreme density of matter present during the universe's early expansion.

Vice City's music could be described as a black hole: dense soundscape and intense rhythm that create an infinite dark vibe.

Ranging from Ambient, Dub, Industry, Techno to Psychedelic Trance, Vice City is always exploring between different boundaries of genre. Her style is often considered meditative as she loves music with the texture of endless space and time that bring the power of peace, liberation and imagination and to people.

You can find elements that seem to conflict with each other such as natural sounds, modern industrial noises and traditional tribal instruments in her music that take you to an unknown journey.

Deeply inspired by those ever changing natural landscapes and different ecosystems, Vice City loves navigating through different genres and styles to interpret the world in multiple ways.

Deep, organic, poetic, tribal and sometimes a bit raw and wild, she explores the subtle texture of sounds and create a certain sense of space and time for an utterly immersive dive into shimmering, flowing and meditative vibes.

Her original productions have been released through Siamese Twins Records, Melifera, Huinali, Oslated, Jin Records, Ankr and MISBHV.

Vice City的音樂靈感來自千變萬化的自然地景與生態系，熱愛透過不同的類型與風格，去感受和詮釋宇宙萬物的奇妙多變。一路深受Psychedelic Trance、Dub、Dn'B、Breaks, Techno／House、Ambient等不同場景的影響，無論快慢或明暗，都試圖運用寬廣的空間感、豐富迷幻的音色和充滿故事性的旋律聲線，創造出充滿獨特氛圍的療癒能量，期待能讓聽者的身心得到舒暢的釋放與滋養。
