My name is Jonny Angel and I would like to present two special playlists featuring the top Czech POP and ALTERNATIVE songs for 2014. I work at the Czech Institute of Modern Music and I am the organizer of the Goodfest summer musical festival held annually in Karlovy Vary, and I have compiled two playlists which represent the best bands in the Czech Republic today.. Each song selected was based on the consideration of a panel of experienced and respected producers, promoters, managers, and journalists in the music industry and represent the absolute best that the Czech Republic music scene has to offer. 'Wake Up Tom' was the first time I ever worked with the Great T.C.

A mutual friend told me that there was this guy making this amazing concept album about the environment and blending Trad English Folk and Rap and Hip Hop, and he was looking for a female folk singer for a few tracks, so of course , I was all over that!

I had just bought an ancient Mandolin on EBay, so I brought that down with me. Tom had a few rough lines written as it had to blend in with the story line and I just jigged them around a bit, came up with a melody and mandolin chords and it worked!!! I love this song.

Notes from Tom Caruana (Tea Sea):

Sadie Jemmett is an incredible singer songwriter. Her latest album was recorded in LA and is complete tonal perfection!!! I have been lucky enough to work with her a few times (introduced by Robin “Deepcutt” Walden). She plays Goldberry in the Bombadeal project….and has recorded 2 tracks for the album.

Tom Bombadeal was conceived in 2004 while I lived in Forest Row. I started work producing new tracks sampling folk music and rapping as the merry fellow that is Bombadeal.

The story is set in a mythical land where Bombadeal and his friends live in a woodland village. All is good for the villagers until they hear word that their village has been targeted for a violent rampage for the precious crystals that lie beneath the village.

In the run up to releasing the album I have put out ‘Songs From The Wood’ which is free to download!!!!
Its a collection of bits n bobs I’ve done since 2004.

The main album has all been made in the last 2 years and features Tom Caruana as Tom Bombadeal, Sadie Jemmett as Goldberry, Flake Brown as the Scene Setter, Longusto as Longfellow the Blacksmith, Vecks as Jack Lumber, Elemental as Papa-Quar, Dizraeli as Goo, See as Agur The Seer, Baba Brinkman, Joncept, Mole (character names unknown).
