This song is a powerful protest against the privatization and exploitation of water, shining a light on the injustices faced by communities denied access to this basic human right. The lyrics paint a vivid picture of life without clean water, while corporations profit from this essential resource. I want to give special credit to my dear friend and sister in music, @DJShAnkAri, whose ideas and research inspired this piece. I wrote the lyrics based on her vision, and I’m deeply grateful for the opportunity to bring it to life.

The song is raw, emotional, and unapologetic — a rallying cry against greed, corruption, and the systems that profit from human suffering. It demands that we recognize water’s true value and fight to protect it for generations to come.

*Note: ShAnkAri and I are sisters in music, though our tastes sometimes differ. We each had our own vision for how this song should sound, so I ended up creating two versions. This song is a raw and emotional love letter to my younger self, a message of hard-earned wisdom and vulnerable strength. I'm looking back on the struggles and mistakes I made, and I want to tell my younger self to stand strong, to not compromise who you are to fit someone else's idea of what's acceptable. The song is about embracing your true self, your worth, and your voice, and not letting the world dim your light. It's a message of empowerment, of self-love, and of rising above the expectations and judgments of others. I'm urging myself, and anyone who's listening, to be brave, to shine, and to be unapologetically who you are.

This song began as Carl's tribute poem to our drummer, Ken. Carl came up with the chord progression and started a project, to which he invited the rest of us. This is the third song Eclectic Collective has done that is a tribute by Carl to one of our members.  We couldn't feel more honoured than to be the subjects of his wild and boundless creativity.
  Fittingly, Ken was first in line to add his magnificent drums. Once we had drums, Josh had something to work with to add his bass, which he did shortly after the drums were up. Mark paid the project a visit next, helping out with a bit of production editing, and dropping in a mad percussion solo using his VST timbale drums. Stephen jumped in soon after, adding the melodic electric guitar riffs that appear throughout. Not to be outdone, JJ added some sonically thickening electric piano, as well as the throwback psychedelic synth that pops up towards the end. Finally, Tez came along and added the electrifying solo that appears about a third of the way in, as well as the one at the end. 
  Once the recording was finished, we turned it over to Stephen to mix in his always professional manner. 
  This song is all about our very talented teammate and brother, Ken, and it is well deserved, too. As mentioned, this is the third song from Carl about one of us. It's hard to describe the feeling of having someone who you respect take the time and energy to think about you in such a positive way as to produce a song about you. Then to have all your buddies join in to amplify it to a solid song is just mind-blowing. We are all very grateful to Carl for not only sharing his music with us, but for his thoughtful consideration of each of us as subjects. We hope you enjoy listening to this as much as we enjoyed creating it.

My Son Ted, he's 6. Last year he taught me what I think is the first truly intelligent thing I've ever heard from a human. He's friends with his tree. This moment showed me how we need to be laser connected to nature to fully find, appreciate and save our place here. Ted obviously has this connection naturally so I think he is showing us a positive evolution for human behavior. Just have to help him retain that now as he grows up. He gifted it to me so I aint going to let this fucked up world unlearn it for him. AI looks backwards... It has a set data set..

we don't. we have billions and billions and billions of neurons and we have billions upon billions of photographs to refer to as our free will desires to combine with the actual empathy we have inately built in... We are forward looking creatures that live in the moment and have the most amazing abilities known to the universe... True intelligence! Other creatures have true intelligence relative to their points of view... but we have the ability to fully reason it too so it's our job to get it right... AI can help us find it but won't find it for us... We can think outside it's boxed dataset. it is our tool always and once we don't make it something that kills everything then it can be our bitch ass tool forever... But we'll be the ones that continue to create this corner of the milky way! not some fucking shitty ass computer. it will never understand properly what connects us as that evolves with us as we evolve as human beings.

So tap your own intelligence and show us... Your vulnerability is one of those amazing traits of solidarity by projection and mistakes and raw honesty in your music can be a cherry on a musical cake that makes you unique if you aren't afraid of them. Think Eric Carmen!

My daughter is now eleven but when she was 4 or 5 years old, I was trying to learn Spanish (but then life got in the way) and as we brushed our teeth every night, I would sing a silly song “Abre la boca, lava tus dientes blancos blancos muy limpios”.  I’m sure it’s a terrible translation but recently the song popped into my head and this weekend, and I thought it might be fun to attempt to turn it into a complete song.

Songwriting has been a lifelong passion for me, dating back to elementary school when I first began crafting stories, poems, and eventually lyrics. As a former drummer in various bands, I always relied on others to bring my words to life musically. However, after a long hiatus from drumming, I decided to take the leap and learn to compose music to accompany my lyrics. Through classes and dedication, I've embarked on a new journey, breathing fresh life into old lyrics and penning new ones. You'll find a mix of older and newer works here. Especially for some of the lyrics. 

Music has been a part of me for as long as I can remember. One of my earliest memories is being completely entranced by 'The Little Drummer Boy' as a very young child. There was something about the rhythm and the melody that just captivated me. I must have played it a thousand times, wearing the record out, and from that moment on, I was hooked. I knew I wanted to be a drummer and to create that magic for others. 

But I was too young then, and of course, I couldn't afford a drum set just yet. So, I turned to writing as a way to express myself. As I mentioned above, I started with stories, then poems, and eventually, lyrics. I found that writing was not only a way to tap into my creativity, but also a way to process my emotions and experiences. 

As I grew older, my love for music only deepened. I realized that music has this incredible power to transport us to different times and places, to evoke emotions and memories that we thought were long forgotten. It's a universal language that can bring people together like nothing else can. 

For me, writing lyrics is a cathartic experience. It's a way for me to tap into my emotions, to process the world around me, and to create something that I hope will resonate with others. And when I hear my words come to life in a song, it's truly magical. It's a feeling that never gets old, and it's what keeps me coming back to music time and time again. 

I love many genres of music and artists of many genres. And if you listen to some of my songs, you will find that I like to make songs of different genres as well as mix different genres into each song. One of my all-time favorite bands is Evanescence, and I have made a lot of songs where I have tried my best to emulate that sound. 

Now, I have recently started experimenting with new sounds. I never heard of glitch beats before I took music classes, and now I'm fascinated with the sound, so I have been experimenting with glitch beats recently.
