"Love Will Heal" is a love song to Self. Its essence though is a reminder that we all "know what love is" and it isn't a matter of having faith, but knowing it within oneself first and then experiencing it with others. - OH.

The Story of an Angel and the Ballad “Love Will Heal” 

A short time after the release of the metal album, "Synemotion", I went to the studio and laid down the instrumentals for a new song idea.

A close friend overheard it, walked in and said, “That melody might make a good love song.”

"No, really," they said, “Just strip out all the instruments and simplify the melody. It is for a love song.”

“I don’t know anything about love,” I said, pretty defiantly as I turned away.

My friend paused, looked at me with a mixture of concern and sadness and finally said, “You know what love is, of course you do."

“Besides,” they said, “I’ve read some of that stuff you write in that black journal slash lyric book you have lying about.”

I felt a tinge of melancholy after that conversation. Over the next weeks, I dropped the song, and even though there were some great reviews about the new album, things were looking disheartening and uncertain.

Usually, at times like those I turn to my lyric book but it was nowhere in sight.

I asked my friend if they had seen it. They said no.

Four days later, the book was on my laptop with a note: “OH., you know what love is.”

The lyrics to a song called, “Love Will Heal” were on a sheet of white paper.

The words appeared strangely familiar.

I quickly flipped through my journal and it dawned on me that the song was composed of sentences from various entries all stitched and woven together in this exquisite manner.

Attached was my melody line from the previous song and an idea for pre-chorus and chorus for the piano.

It did not take me long to figure out what “angel” did this. They told me later they felt moved, dropped everything they were doing for days and nights as the song pieced together.

I hope you find this song as beautiful as I do. I am not sure yet if this will, be part of an EP next spring or this song just stands on its own for what it is, but I feel certain it had to come out now as it is and that this song could help others heal their souls as much as it did for me.

Episode 06 Victim Of illusion

Victim Of Illusion were formed in Turin in Summer 2010 by Piero (guitar) and Paolo (vocals).
Among VOI's musical influences are Porcupine Tree, Tool, Massive Attack, Sigur Ros and Radiohead, and its music incorporates elements from rock to progressive.
During initial improvisation sessions the band composed about a dozen tracks, which were then developed and defined in the following months, when Luca (bass guitar) joined the band.

On October 13, 2011 the band's first EP “What senses blow away” was released, completely recorded, mixed, mastered and produced by the band.

After gigging for an year, VOI started to work on the 2nd album. The work ended with a selection of 8 songs, focusing on open sounds, rock/prog riffs and consciousness of illusion.
"Oxideyes" was released on 1st March 2014.
The album was mixed by Giampiero Ulacco and mastered at Spitfire Mastering Studio.

On april 2014 Danilo the new drummer joins the band.
Victim Of Illusion are now preparing the new live show.
