Where ever you are in the world, we hope you are enjoying yourself. It's holiday season here in the States and we are feeling grateful for an amazing year of music and inspiration despite all the negativity going on outside of music. 

For our 13th edition of our White Label Series we have our good brother oriJanus who we have been connecting with since the beginning of our time. If there is one word we can describe to represent OJ it would be a perfectionist. This is one of those organic connections that we wanted to let fall into place on it's own and here we are. Representing Bakersfield, CA, this young 21 year old recently took the leap from his hometown in Bakersfield to Los Angeles and it's exciting to see how far he has come. 

It was a few months back at our Stussy collab party where we realized that he's got next. He hit us with this crazy remix of the classic So:Ho "Hot Music" and we knew we and to build something off of it. We hope you enjoy his take on sampling and fusing it together with his signature-hard hitting rhythms.

Sometimes, it's really about the timing. It's been almost a year since the very first idea floated btw us and HBTV about presenting DTW in a certain way that would represent the DNA of the label. 

Indeed, DTW is quite simply a movement of ideas - stemmed in the notion of diversity, that things didn't need categorisations or definitions, and that life itself could be a jazz moment - constantly improvising and evolving. The artists and affiliates that are hand-picked by us reflect that spirit and we are all part of the same ecosystem.

It's with great pleasure and humility that we present this little insight into the DTW universe, narrated through the voices of co-foudners Funk Bast*rd and Kaye, and we hope this presents you the perfect chance to know us better.

One of Arnhem's best kept secrets is Funk producer Henning. He reps the far east of the Netherlands and dropped by the Red Bull Studios Amsterdam last month.

Together with guitar player Raphael Devante, he got down and worked on the track "Tru Funksta". This instrumental version is available for free download and later this year there might be a vocal version on the way.

After one of his final expeditions throughout the lands of Maryland, the founding father of our nation opened the odd music box he had just found and simply gazed at the beautifully perplexing sound of FUNK that came out of it. As his stare remained paralyzed, his muscles throughout his entire body eerily contracted and relaxed in alternating patterns to that mysterious tune. It was an occurrence he had never witnessed before; it was a physical, yet weirdly spiritually feeling he would seek for the rest of his life.

"I Don't Wanna Get Used To It" is a powerful, yet danceable tune in the modern funk vein whose backbone is hard-hitting claps and crisp, chunky synth lines that back Moniquea's silky lead vocals and hard-edged vibrato.
