Samuele Scelfo, Davide T & Side B link up across two red-hot new tracks on Hottrax.
Florence talent Samuele Scelfo returns for his third outing on Jamie Jones’ lauded Hottrax imprint, following a huge 2023 that saw him land on labels from Sola to Repopulate Mars, with his standout track ‘Playin Around’ on the latter picking up over 500,000 streams on Spotify.
Scelfo joins forces with Side B, who is known for his edgy cuts on the likes of Mood Child and Of Unsound Mind, for the speaker-rattling 'Vibrate' - a ravey cut with a filthy bassline that drills down below crisp tech drums and Detroit-style synth stabs that will get hands in the air.
On the digital flip, Scelfo links with Davide T, a budding producer from Milan with credits on Moxy Muzik, Snatch! and CUFF. Together they impress with 'Lollipop Kiss', a wonky club track with woodpecker-style synth loops that are heavily filtered next to wobbly low-end and low-slung drums.

Opening track The Messiah takes the maestro Lil Louis blueprint with sampled sax licks and punchy synth stabs accompanying the raw, minimal house groove. "Spread across four compositions it’s the title cut ‘Kuba’ which gets the release underway. Known for their pure progressive sound Ezequiel and Nicolas go dark and groovy with a strong dance floor sensibility. Rhythmic and spacey from the outset it’s chugging framework gets complimented with ghostly vocals and astral effects, before an emotive break tantalizes the senses, perfectly segueing into a heads down finale. ‘Recall’ follows suit with a similar design profile and dark, brooding undertones. A buoyant kick immediately grabs your attention as trails of sonic decay float above the rugged foundation. Eerie and ominous, the main break shifts the narrative into the netherworld before completely melting down for an inspired drop.

At the halfway point of the EP comes ‘Inconceivable’, once again relying on powerful rhythms, it’s chuggy groove is immediately infectious, while a strong percussive complement adds immense drive. The break brings a more poignant feel with delicate motifs taking centre stage, before getting washed away for wispy sonics and a killer drop. 

The release concludes with Sweet Paradise ft. Gise Stival which shows the more emotive side of EANP. Anchored by a rolling, subterranean groove it’s the delicate vocal styling's of Gise which resonate deeply throughout the first act. Glistening symphonics add an elegant touch during the main break, intertwining with the vocal perfectly, before smoothly transitioning into a purring finale. Ezequiel and Nicolas have more than solidified the EANP moniker as a source for quality progressive house and this EP only adds to that sentiment. A great debut on Movement Recordings for the Argentinean duo."

Strange Town Recordings is back again with an astounding release. It's Bangalore-based Weird Sounding Dude, DJ/producer who's dropping a deeply compelling groove on the label.

Our premiere "Adia" will lift you to higher-grounds with its subtle meandering rhythm, catchy bass-line and sun-kissed brilliance. 

Bio:
Weird Sounding Dude is a Bangalore-based music producer/DJ. He has always enjoyed a place in the underground dance music culture. His trademark chuggy grooves and squelchy rhythms are sure to satisfy his audience but there are always a few surprises along the way.

As it happens with a lot of artists, only DJ’ing wasn’t enough for his musical expedition, so he embarked on a journey to prove his worth as a self-taught producer. Drawing his influences by the likes of James Holden, Extrawelt, Nathan Flake and Worakls. 

It’s safe to say that this “Dude” in particular isn’t just another kid on the block. His voyage has slowly started to take shape with no intentions of slowing down.
