Wow, I worte this years ago. My son had been taken by his Dad to France (visiting his grandad) and the Madeleine McCann story was still all over the news.

I remember vividly creating this, the sample, creating the drums adding the cymbols - every part flew out of me and I put it together in an evening, night and early morning. No doubt there was wine or beer involved (I wasn't so into gin back then!). the vocals were recorded on a zoom recorder in my living room, i sobbed as i sung them imagining ever having to go through the loss of my baby boy, Seven.

Lost

Medalion is a quarter of EP produced by Brizman & Szafran. The EP will be released partly throughout 2023 - one track every few months. It contains 4 tracks produced by good friends in the last few years in Berlin, it combines the sounds and rhythms that are somewhat characteristic of both producers. 

The first track - Medalion - is a rough, groovy, fat-sounding music journey leading you through the dancefloor of clubs.  Layers of pads, atmospheres, and analog delays laid on a running breakbeat with a strong 4/4 kick that won't let you stop dancing. 

The subtle, thrumming rhythms and hovering melodies make early movements pleasant.  Instead of delivering a maximal release, they give us minimalism at its least effective.

"My Taste Is Yours Too" with Dukwa [Episode 00]

Line Out Radio is happy to host Saimin, brillant DJ from San Francisco ! Here is his techno side (tracklist below), the reveals a strong culture and nice sensibility for this genre.

In Japanese, “saimin” has dual meanings: hypnosis (催眠) and relieving the sufferings of the people (済民). Saimin aspires to bring both of these elements to every set he spins, crafting deep and hypnotic grooves that touch your soul and make you dance. 

Saimin first fell in love with the pounding beats of techno in the scene’s early years in Detroit, later moving to San Francisco and becoming active in the house scene. A brief stint in Tokyo was where he would begin to hone his DJ skills by playing small techno parties before eventually returning to San Francisco. 

Whether spinning a deep & minimal house set or dropping raw, hypnotic techno, Saimin’s unique taste and style thread together evolving soundscapes of driving beats and soulful basslines that take control of your body and emotions.
