An elegant rebellion enveloped in calm light, where defiance becomes beauty and every imperfection shines with purpose. The movement is unrestrained but deliberate, oscillating between restraint and liberation. What stands out does not break the order; gives it soul.

With a "Gold Dusted" sprinkling, Vitamindevo cast a golden tech house glow over the Particles 2015 summer. Now reprising the EP, we deliver a pair of new interpretations from two über cool artists with their fingers on the pulse of the thriving SoCal scene.

Impressing with an innate musical sensibility, US DJ and producer, Mark Slee, carries all before him across the bay area. Involved in the music industry for over fifteen years, DJ appearances including a global presence that has realised gigs in South Africa, Mexico and East Coast USA, has seen Slee charter an impressive voyage. Across his San Francisco hometown, appearances alongside Danny Tenaglia, Guy Gerber and Danny Howells has also provided a conduit for Mark Slee's reputation to radiate across the city through the Listed Bookings agency.

As a producer, Mark Slee's developing talent is no less impressive. A 2013 debut, remixing Autim for Looq has led to a further quarter century of production credits for the label including 2014's trilogy of original releases that revelled in deep house glory. Further work for the likes of Cityfox and Submarine Vibes have continued the deep vibe before a remix of Oliver Lieb opened Mark's account for Proton Music, alongside his chart-topping "Heron Sound" Proton Radio show. Now, returning for a second remix, the Mark Slee interpretation of "Gold Dusted" fuses deep percussive rhythms with his penchant for flowing melodic phrasing. A multitude of additional production adds character and depth to a work firmly rooted in the playful nature of Vitamindevo's original as new melody and staccato vocal cuts combine to impressive effect.

Part of the all-conquering Desert Hearts roster, and one half of the highly impressive, Bells and Whistles outfit, Yannick Rieffel is a man of innumerable talents. With production partner, Zack Yakovlev, the pair have found their sound writ large over southern California with appearances at clubs across San Francisco and, most recently, as part of the huge "Desert Hearts Spring Festival" at Los Coyotes Reservation. A clutch of releases spans a production career that began with a remix for Mioli Music in 2012 while May 2015's "Hands" EP for Desert Hearts went on to feature on both the Evocative and Visceral compilation series, thus marking a high point on Bells and Whistles odyssey.

Now, branching out on his own under a new production moniker, Yannick Reiffel debuts his Foolish Fox soubriquet on Particles. Upholding the sonic keystones that feature in the original, the Foolish Fox remix of "Rip Tide" is a delicious voyage in deep house virtuosity. A decadent beat relishes its carefree relationship to pin point timing as a swung hi-hat rhythm section and deep kick provide the perfect vehicle on which to carry a rich bass groove. Building to a crescendo at the mid-point interval, rhythm, melody and additional production marry in exquisite execution in the final movements.

A pair of gold standard remixes from Mark Slee and Foolish Fox have ensured that Vitamindevo's hallmark sound continues to shine through "Gold Dusted".

Russian duo Doyeq are already back on Nugget Music with two wonderful tracks. First up is "Air Crystal" a tune that carries its name well, clear percussions and organic sounds give this track a precious deep and dark vibe. Peter Makto & Gregory S. turned the track into an energetic bomb remix perfect for the dance floor.

Next is ‘Blurry Mascara’ which fits the EP well with a more energetic vibe while maintaining darkness and atmosphere. Mark Slee brought his own style of remix, well crafted percussions and bouncy sounds are part of this happier version.

VieL once again enchants with his calm but still driving way of writing music. With resilience he creates this cloudy mood, which picks up speed with its hypnotic bell chime and the intense percussions. Clicking additions reveal the passing train simultaneously a wistfully sounding call invites to hop on.
Shunus turns resilience into a even more driving dream, the drums a little spicier, but still similar in character. Modified bell chimes, added synths, great organics as background percussions and a very epic breakpart make it special. The sensual, passionate vocal stays a shaping element.
Last but not least VieL serves us a track with a happy touch, which makes morning dew evaporate, to let the bright sunlight through. A few pianoparts and hazy voices vanish in the distant and leave us with a harmonious mindset.

The estonian producer about : river has embarked on this very journey and returned with a cinematic sound, filled with emotion, texture and fullfilling atmospheres, that create a broad and stimulating release. His originals are filled with live percussion, analogue synthesizers and authentic piano progressions, that are all well balanced, never feeling too much nor too little.

The strong, core melodic ideas have been shifted to the dancefloor and are re-interpretated by the likes of Volen Sentir and canadian debutant Zoi. The incredibly talented duo of Volen Sentir retouched the marvelous "Silver Dusk" with a sharp & continuous groove, mixed with subtle vocal layers and smart elements, that further emphasize the beauty of the main lead. Zoi captures the ground layers of "Feather Rain and is able to extract a hypnotic and simultaniously organic atmosphere, that is inlaid in his silky smooth groove, never pushing it too far, but rather sustaining a constant atmosphere, that is both gentle and energetic.

VieL (Vasilis Lampaounas) was born in Greece in 1979.
His interest in music began at a very young age as a radio producer and dj. Exploring several genres of music such as acid jazz, soul, ambient, techno and drum' n' bass, finally ended up in electronic music.
After that and for a series of years since today, he has taken part to many events as a guest or a resident dj.
In 2009 he started his first steps in music production on genres such as deep house and electronica.
Vasilis continues his musical journey creating music mainly based on his mood, but at the same time maintaining his musical signature that makes him stand out in his career.
