The album is the band's debut album. All compositions on the album are original compositions. Only the main theme of "Was in der Nacht" is an adaptation of the folk melody "Was ich die Nacht im Schlaf betrachte". The album was recorded on October 8th and 9th, 2019 in two live recording sessions in the Heiterere Fahne.
The band Viertaktmotor always seeks an authentic and direct access to the audience in their artistic work. For this reason, we decided against a studio album production and recorded a live album.
It was important to us that we also play for people when recording and not just for microphones. The noise, the space and the world around us is a big part of our musical expression.

Their music is rooted in the traditionel swiss folk music, but the four musicians don't shy away from experiments and crossing borders. They dare to ask the question "how sounds folk music of a global multiculti world, created between alpine landscapes and the concrete of the citys.
