I wrote "Something About You" in 1998 on my guitar in my bedroom in Doylestown, Pennsylvania. It was well-liked, so I put it into development, and by the time 2004 came around, indie label Deeplay Music had licensed it and produced two very sultry deep house versions that became very popular in territories including South Africa and Botswana under my then-artist name, Lorayne.

Remixed by DJ Rocco, the song earned platinum sales via its placement on a release by the Soul Candi label via Deeplay sublicense.

The contract with Deeplay ran from 2004 and ended in 2012, but given the song's continued popularity, I'm tempted to produce a version of my own.

Elemental Vol. 10 continues the journey begun in Vol. 1, returning to the meeting point of nature and circuitry where country becomes techno and techno becomes country. It’s not fusion so much as coexistence: a music that sounds both handmade and algorithmic, campfire and circuitry, soil and signal.
